Job Description
PMO Program Managers are accountable for monitoring all aspects of a program/project, which involves pursuit and/or project delivery including scope, timelines, resources, budget, risks and issues, relationships, and communication. Furthermore, they are accountable for successful program/project delivery on time, within budget, and meet or exceed quality expectations. Understanding business objectives and how the project will deliver them. This role will be asked to perform as a release train engineer once the team is in place (within 6 months).
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with delivery teams to drive successful delivery of projects and programs as assigned. Deliver project results through leadership actively facilitating the agile release train including orchestration of the program increment processes, planning/execution.
- Be the voice of coordination within and across agile release trains.
- Identify, emphasize and assess business outcomes and value.
- Actively facilitate Program Increment (PI) planning readiness and execution of PI planning events.
- Establish and communicate the schedules for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs).
- Ensure alignment and visibility of PI objectives and execution metrics and tracking of aligned deliverables.
- Facilitate synchronization sessions and demos at program / value stream levels.
- Manage and optimize the flow of value through the agile release/solution train.
- Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics.
- Ensure PI risks/issues/impediments are owned, resolved or escalated to protect PI and subsequent release commitments.
- Encourage collaboration between trains, teams and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment and successful delivery.
- Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the agile release/solution train and help them improve.
- Help configure and contextualize SAFe/Scaling techniques for Allstates multi-methodology delivery eco-system.
- Coach stakeholders and participants in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets for scaling agile delivery in multi-method ecosystem.
Job Qualifications
Education: MBA (Preferred but not required)
Experince working as a Release train engineer is good to have..
