Job Summary
Front line position with moderate supervision that is responsible for inbound new business sales calls and renewal calls with the objective to profitability underwrite, sell and provide coverage counsel to prospects for Travelers Agribusiness Sales Center (TASC) that is consistent with growth and underwriting strategies for Travelers. This job does not manage others This job works under Moderate Supervision: Incumbent performs standard and routine assignments independently to conclusion; unusual problems which may require exceptions to procedures or processes are referred to the supervisor.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Sell insurance in a call center environment while making appropriate underwriting and pricing decisions. Ensure underwriting quality and profitability through the application of the appropriate level of underwriting analysis based on risk complexity to accept, decline, modify, rate and quote these accounts. Achieve specific goals for call handling, quotes, sales, premium and hit ratios (sales/quotes). Solicit all underwriting information necessary to produce and deliver a quote. Develop underwriting exposures and make pricing decisions or recommendations to the next level (as appropriate). Provide Insurance coverage counseling as an agent to the prospective insureds to include underwriting eligibility questions and policy coverage options. Responsible for insuring compliance with underwriting strategies and regulatory requirements. Take inbound and make outbound calls as it relates to selling and servicing customers on behalf of the TASC. Handle customer objections professionally while clearly articulating relevant product features, benefits, and value to the consumer. Build/maintain effective relationships with potential and established Insureds. Provide customer service to Insureds over the phone at a level that is consistent with Travelers Agribusiness service quality and productivity goals (retention, close ratio and file quality). Resolve service related complaints (including billing) and process complex customer calls. Validate account information and make appropriate underwriting and pricing decisions. Enter changes into the policy writing system and send documentation to the insured. Manages account documentation and service standards in collaboration with Account Manager (e.g. Quotes, proposals, policy endorsements, cancellations, underwriting/pricing exhibits, etc.). Identify and take corrective action and/or collaborate with the appropriate area within the organization based on individual risk characteristics identified. Manage new vs. renewal pricing modification factors and appropriately document pricing rationale based on individual risk characteristics. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree required One year insurance experience required

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
2 years of insurance experience with any of the following criteria: Agent/Producer for Commercial or Personal Lines. Commercial or Personal Insurance Underwriting or Underwriting Operations. Prior Claim experience for Commercial/Personal Insurance Property claims. Prior Sales/Customer Service Call Center experience. Bachelor degree in related field preferred.

Good negotiation skills, ability to identify customers needs and develop solutions to meet those needs. Ability to multi-task across various systems. Ability to effectively document underwriting thought process and customer interactions. Follows up on customer requests without management follow-up. Good technical multi-line underwriting skills; Good knowledge of Property/Casualty business and products. Understands Agribusiness products, financials, objectives and service requirements. Manages own work; takes responsibility for decisions and actions; quantitative reasoning, critical thinking skills. Establishes strong relationships and networks within Agribusiness. Ability to manage multiple tasks; prioritize and work effectively in a fast paced, decision oriented environment. Understands business objectives and responds to related issues; concerns; problems; can act in a decisive manner to achieve financial objectives. Ability to assimilate change with current processes and recommend process changes. Strong automation skills, including: MI tools, rating systems/platform, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Physical Requirements
Operates standard office equipment (Frequency). Sitting (Can stand at will) (Frequency). Use of Keyboards, Sporadic 10-Key (Frequency).

Licensing or Certificates
Property Casualty insurance license preferred. Must be able to obtain non-resident licenses for remaining U.S. States.
