Job Summary
This position is an entrance role into Data Management field. This position performs accountabilities under general supervision and supervisor provides guidance and examples on how to perform a task but expects the employee to use the new knowledge to independently perform the tasks.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with coordination of the production, testing, reconciliation, and maintenance of the Travelers new FACTS (PeopleSoft) integrated financial database (General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets).
- Responsible for report/query execution and development.
- Troubleshoot resolution of accounting information with Investment, Treasury, Underwriting and Expense areas that have data integrity issues on their interfaces.
- Run and maintain ledger allocations within PeopleSoft.
- Monitor daily system process execution timelines.
- Assist with the coordination for testing of changes to the various sub-ledgers and underwriting source systems.
- Develop specifications and work closely with IT department to enhance the system and support business requirements.
- Preparation of documentation to meet 302 audit requirements.
- Provide customer service support and help desk coverage.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of customer training.
- Overtime is required monthly in order to assist in the consolidation of the Travelers Financial results.
- Strong analytical ability needed to understand and resolve complex issues.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent education required.
Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelors degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or Business preferred. 1+ yrs. general business experience, Data Management experienced preferred Understands concepts and applications of business information models. Demonstrates understanding of relationship between data and business rules and functions (i.e. data analysis concepts). Proficient with tools and software to extract and analyze data in the data management function.
Job Specific & Technical Skills & Competencies
- Basic accounting knowledge is necessary to prepare financial statements (e.g. Balance Sheet, Income Statements) and exhibits for management.
- An understanding of Corporate and Underwriting systems, Hyperion Financial Management, SQL, or PeopleSoft is a plus.
- Bachelor of Science, Accounting or Finance Major strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access).
- Strong Spreadsheet skills are required. Knowledge of pivot tables, functions, etc. is a plus.
- PeopleSoft experience a plus.
- Solid knowledge of data practices and principles for data analysis.
- Demonstrated solid analytic and diagnostic skills.
- Demonstrated solid interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated solid communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
Operates standard office equipment. Requires extended periods of computer use. Requires extended periods of sitting.
