Under General Direction of the VP, Product Manager II, this position partners with Field Sales, Operations, Claim and Direct to Consumer leadership to assist in the development and execution on the strategic imperatives to achieve the overall profitability and growth of automobile and homeowner product. Responsible for contributing to the formulation and collaboration on local state markets and countrywide strategies in conjunction with regulatory, actuarial, and legal partners. Responsible for developing and executing on line of business strategies, Auto, Property, Specialty Products, at a countrywide level. In conjunction with your PMII, partner with field leadership to implement decisions at a state level. This position may manage others.


Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Leads or collaborates in the leadership of a technical pricing team to perform the analysis process and rate setting, and trend selections to meet profitability goals.
  • In conjunction with Product Manager II, partners with Field Sales team to develop state profit and growth strategies including product positioning and marketing approach.
  • Partners in the coordination of rate revision schedule with the systems integration team and field organization. In conjunction with Product Manager II, makes fact based strategic decisions based on a knowledge of the market, which includes competitors, regulatory and legal environment, claims handling trend, and distribution channel/agent relationships.
  • May negotiate rate changes with various channels and assist in the formulation of business review packages to document the rate changes.
  • Provide input to the Personal Insurance internal regulatory/filing unit to respond to the department of insurance for rate filings and market conduct exams and serves as a consultant on consumer complaints and other interactions.
  • Partners with Field Sales team and travel to states to build expertise on regional strategies. Develops thorough understanding of competitors and alternative markets within assigned territory.
  • In conjunction with Product Manager II and functional partners, assists in the completion of financial analysis of territory results and impact on strategy for assigned territory/region; present results to senior management on monthly basis. Also, may lead a team that accomplishes these tasks for their particular territories. Develops and maintains relationships with state regulators by attending regulatory meetings (i.e., IRES, and SERA), insurance department visits, and participation in industry group meetings.
  • With Product Manager II oversight, analyzes and synthesizes data to determine trends and communicate key profit metrics to Claim, Operations, and distribution channels. Assists in the presentation of the strategic overviews of assigned region.
  • Management Accountabilities: Attracts, develops, motivates and retains critical talent. Communicate results and priorities effectively to team. Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree required. 4 years of experience in data analytics required. 1 year managing others required.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelors degree in business management, mathematics, management information, finance, actuarial science, economics or other analytics related field. Masters degree preferred. 6 years product management experience preferred. Thorough P&C industry knowledge. Experience in senior level general management functions. Typically has in depth knowledge/experience in one Personal Insurance product line. Comprehensive knowledge of Pricing and Actuarial techniques.

Manage in participative manner. Develop employees. Manage change effectively. Inspire others and promote a vision. Understand and navigate organization.
