Job Summary
The Lean Agile/Project Management Coach role is a key member of the Bond & Specialty Insurance (BSI) Strategy Planning &Execution (SP&E) team. They act as a change agent to improve the effectiveness of projects in BSI by coaching Strategic Initiative teams and other business staff in lean-agile and project management techniques and methods.
The Coach works autonomously with minimal supervision and is responsible for applying advanced lean-agile and project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to support teams, programs and individuals to adopt and improve their Agile methods and practices to achieve high performance and better meet stakeholder expectations and company goals.


Marketing Description
The Lean Agile/Project Management Coach role is a key member of the Bond & Specialty Insurance (BSI) Strategy Planning &Execution (SP&E) team. They act as a change agent to improve the effectiveness of projects in BSI by coaching Strategic Initiative teams and other business staff in lean-agile and project management techniques and methods.
The Coach works autonomously with minimal supervision and is responsible for applying advanced lean-agile and project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to support teams, programs and individuals to adopt and improve their Agile methods and practices to achieve high performance and better meet stakeholder expectations and company goals.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Mentors business staff in practices of lean agile and related practices such as discovery and framing facilitation.

Assesses performance of teams and programs, identifies opportunities for improvement and makes recommendations

Trains and teaches on a variety of lean-agile methods with a strong focus on customer centered design
Contributes to development and sharing of lean-agile best practices
Provides consultancy and acts as SME on lean-agile principles and leading industry practices
Embraces, models, and fosters a culture of lean thinking
Provide mentoring in basic project management skills for business staff when required
May be asked to lead specific business initiatives and/or provide guidance/coaching to business staff responsible for leading initiatives.



Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. 5 years of project management experience required.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Four-year college degree in a business oriented discipline, Mathematics, Software Engineering or Operations Management preferred
Extensive knowledge & application of Agile practices and principles including SAFe, Scrum and Kanban as well as traditional project management practices
Ability to inspect and adapt Agile practices to various situations
Proficiency in written and verbal communication including strong presentation skills
Ability to be an advocate for and influence the lean agile transition
Proven team player with the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders from management to practitioners
Excellent interpersonal skills with proven relationship-building experience
Ability to collaborate and work across the organization
Leader and change agent for organizational change initiatives
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Strong facilitation skills
Strong influencing skills
Strong listening skills
Pluses include:

Experience with Agile Central (Rally)Experience with SharePoint

Job Specific & Technical Skills & Competencies
Experience as an Agile Coach across multiple coaching engagements, or experience and mastery as a Scrum Master, Kanban Master, RTE, Product Owner, or Product Manager required
Minimum of five years' experience working leading strategic technology initiatives with increasing levels of complexity, preferably with some supervisory experience
SAFe, Scrum or Kanban Experience required
Insurance industry knowledge preferred



Licensing or Certificates
Certification in Lean Agile practices (e.g. SAFe, SCRUM, Kanban) and/or Design Thinking preferred
Change Management training and certification (e.g. AIM. ADKAR, etc.) a positive
