The Financial Analyst II will be responsible for analyzing, preparing and providing insightful explanations with regards to quarter-end earnings, forecast and plan deliverables. This role will support Financial Reporting management and external reporting for the segment and enterprise leadership teams.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate monthly and quarterly financial reporting

  • Prepare a concise variance analysis (e.g., actual results, plan, forecast) for Balance Sheet and P & L at the segment, business unit, and client levels

  • Prepare and develop reports on a daily, monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc basis

  • Identify and explain trends, variance drivers, and key performance indicators

  • Responsibilities involve working closely with the FP&A and business finance teams to enhance the reporting processes, as well as recommend and implement procedures to resolve data quality issues and ensure consistency between multiple areas and reporting systems

  • Solid knowledge of financial variance analysis, internal controls, audits, US GAAP & local GAAP


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 3-4 years related professional experience

  • Knowledgeable of company products and services

  • Ability to adapt procedures, processes and techniques to more complex problems and issues

  • Apply advanced and sophisticated analytical techniques.

  • Evaluation, originality and ingenuity are required

Education

  • Bachelors degree required Finance or Accounting

  • Minimum 3 years experience in finance/accounting; must include income statement and balance sheet analysis

Other requirements

  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • Balance sheet and income statement analysis experience

  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems

  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports and statements, using an advanced level of Excel (including pivot tables), PowerPoint, and Word

  • Requires advanced ability to build financial reports, quickly manipulate data and conduct financial analysis under tight timelines

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with internal teams, at multiple levels, settings, and time zones

  • Work requires strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • A team player that can work in a complex and fast-paced environment

  • Critical and innovative thinking

  • Be prepared to work extended hours and weekends occasionally, and be available for business travel (if needed)

  • Must be committed to continuous learning and a continuous improvement culture as the business needs change

Preferred Skills

  • Experience identifying, evaluating and resolving financial, accounting and data quality discrepancies

  • Proficient in understanding impact on the financial statement lines

  • Insurance experience
