Underwriting - Director of Professional Liability

Director, Professional Lines Underwriting / Product Development - Dallas, TX

Our client is an entrepreneurial  Property and Casualty Insurance carrier and is seeking a strong technical Professional Lines underwriting specialist for the Underwriting and Product Development Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating underwriting discipline for a diverse group of Misc. Professional and Management Liability groups and to provide product development assistance to those departments.  The role will include portfolio underwriting reviews and provide product development / product management support to ensure competitive edge and underwriting excellence on an enterprise basis.  

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 10 years' experience in the underwriting of Professional Liability Insurance products in a carrier setting
• Exposure to portfolio underwriting, product management or product development is a plus
• Bachelors Degree is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Proficiency in strategic planning and analytics
• Successful track record for developing and growing new and existing PL product lines
• Ability to work in a collaboratively in a team environment
• Professional Insurance designations are considered a plus
