How This Role Contributes to Brighthouse Financial:

The IT Solution Owner (ITSO) is a key role in implementation of the VA Hedging future state solutions in Brighthouse Financial. ITSO is responsible for the following:

  • Management and governance of the VA Hedging future state program, incl. mitigation of any issues working with key stakeholders
  • Ensuring BHF project management processes are followed, checks and balances are maintained, and stakeholder expectations are managed
  • Maintains scope, cost and schedule of the program deliverables in interaction with delivery leads and program sponsor
  • Facilitates clear and concise written and verbal communication with all levels of internal and third-party business and technical project teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for a portfolio of critical VA Hedging, Data and Data Science projects; Leads project delivery teams and ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget
  • As a key partner to business, technology and vendor teams, identify and monitor open issues, raise alerts and manage follow up and resolution
  • Define strategic roadmap of technology in partnership with business, data and vendor teams
  • Serve as conduit between senior management and business partners, technology stakeholders and vendors
  • Manage vendor relationship and tracks technology budget for the program portfolio
  • Produce superior communication and documentation to drive VA Hedging solutions governance
  • Maintain productive working relationships with all business, technology partners and third-party vendors in assigned business and technology domains
  • Defines and communicates program and project scope and deliverables based on requirements supplied
  • Communicates with assigned resources to ensure on-time completion of planned tasks
  • Implements risk management standards into the program to ensure all risks are identified and properly mitigated
  • Operates as an internal consultant directing the work of all levels of management
  • Drives recommendations into the annual strategic planning process, ensuring alignment to the highest strategic priorities

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • A proven track record for 7+ years of managing critical large-scale solutioning programs with extensive business acumen and a broad range of exposure to business units is required
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire the trust, confidence and respect of peers and other senior leaders, using superior customer relationship, communication, negotiation and conflict resolutions skills is required
  • Extensive experience with managing vendors and consultants / contractors, BPO and SaaS solutions in Cloud using an Agile methodology is preferred
  • Prior experience and knowledge of Capital Markets and/or VA Hedging business processes is a big plus
  • Ability to successfully interface and partner with all roles of technical solution stand up projects and programs
  • Self-driven ability to understand, uncover, resolve and recommend options to solve complex business issues with technology solutions
