The Sr. Solutions Consultant will work on the Global Ops Strategy and Innovation Team to identify opportunities for process improvement and technology implementation, including artificial intelligence solutions. As clients and customers are demanding better experiences, this role is critical to quickly test and implement new methodologies. The Sr. Solutions Consultant is accountable to both define new, creative ways of doing business and to execute and deliver on the realization of the approach.


This role requires a candidate to be influential, curious, creative, and analytically rigorous in order to succeed. It is a great opportunity to combine a number of disciplines while working on the cutting edge with start-ups and driving change within Assurant and the insurance industry.


Responsibilities:

  • Seek out new methodologies and technologies to create improvement opportunities (greater speed, effectiveness, efficiency, and customer options) for the Assurant businesses
  • Lead the development of business cases around Operational Transformation and Artificial Intelligence by partnering with lines of business and associated operational departments. Business cases should address strategic need, financial impact, development scope, and high-level project plan.
  • Create the detailed blueprint that will serve as the foundation for the Delivery stage of each initiative. Bring a high level of creativity to deliver with internal and external resources on aggressive, agile timelines.
  • Deliver a better experience for customers, clients, and Assurant employees.
  • Deliver operational excellence through simplification, standardization, automation, and scalable solutions.
  • Develop a robust business acumen and thorough understanding of Assurant capabilities, products, and systems.
  • Drive change and transformation to how we serve our clients and customers; help Assurant to outperform.

Key Interactions & Cross Functional Accountabilities

  • Develop and cultivate a strong working relationship with lines of business and other functional areas within the company. Understand their goals and objectives while balancing the priorities of all parties involved in order to meet the business objectives.
  • This will include partnering with Business Leaders, Business Development, Account Executives, Workstream and Operational Leaders to execute strategies for business opportunities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate business cases and project plans to senior management.
  • Ability to quickly learn multiple businesses and challenge traditional processes for improvement and expense reduction.



Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Technology, etc.
  • 6+ years of experience in Program / Project Management, IT, Quality or Operations Leadership
  • 3+ years of experience in process improvement projects
  • Experience in influencing decisions and delivering results
  • Expertise in Excel + PowerPoint
  • Travel 20%+

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of numerous Assurant business units (internal candidates)
  • MBA
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or other process improvement certifications
  • Exposure to Robotic Process Automation, Machine Learning, and other capabilities on the Artificial Intelligence spectrum
  • Experience with agile development teams
  • Experience working with vendors to bring in external solutions
  • Experience with insurance claims and customer service functions
  • Experience in Consulting, Sales, and/or Client Management
