Job Description

Multiple Opportunities for All Levels of General Adjusters across the U.S. **General Adjusters, Regional General Adjusters, National General Adjusters, Executive General Adjusters**Regional General Adjuster

JOB SUMMARY:

Under minimal supervision, has the authority to resolve complex commercial losses up to $750,000 by investigating coverages, damages and negotiating final adjustment achieving settlement. Must have and develop skills (organizational and interpersonal) to manage expectations of insurers, insureds, brokers, lawyers, accountants and public adjusters. Work closely with peers in the general adjuster practice. Assist in sales calls, presentations and special projects. RGA may have experience in managing Regional Accounts and SIR Retention Accounts as designated by management. Ability and willingness to travel to the site of major losses and catastrophes for assignments that may last several weeks Licensees as required by state and local jurisdictions.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Examine claims forms, policies and endorsements, client instructions and other records, Field investigations
  • Set loss reserves and manage claims cost
  • Prepare reports by collecting and summarizing information required by client, local, state and federal
  • Maintain company brand/reputation and product integrity by complying with insurance regulations and corporate best practices
  • Maintain professional, technical and appropriate licensing through continuing education

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

  • The Regional General Adjuster reports to the Executive General Adjuster or Vice President

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

  • May supervise General Adjuster Trainees

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • BS / BA or Equivalent Work Experience

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 to 8 years

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Advanced computer skills and software applications
  • Customer service
  • Flexibility

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Contract, first and third party
  • Estimating damage capability, analytical and mathematical
  • Broad technical knowledge related to accounting, state regulation and client best practices

ROUTINE DECISIONS AND FORMAL POLICY SETTING:

Decisions routinely made include:

  • Recommendations on coverage, estimated loss damages and settlement
  • Recommendations on use of experts
  • When to ask for assistance from peers and colleagues on major cases

Policy setting:

  • No formal responsibility; Policies associated with the jobs purpose and essential responsibilities are set by others

National General Adjuster

JOB SUMMARY:

Under minimal supervision, has the authority to resolve complex commercial losses up to $1,500,000.00 by investigating coverages, damages and negotiating final adjustment achieving settlement. NGAs may also be involved in loss settlements up to multi million $ exposure working with Carriers, Complex Claims or SLA Management. Must have and develop skills (organizational and interpersonal) to manage expectations of insurers, insureds, brokers, lawyers, accountants and public adjusters. Work closely with peers in the general adjuster practice. Assist in sales calls, presentations and special projects. NGA may have experience in managing or appointment to National Accounts and SIR Retention Accounts as designated by markets or management. Experience dealing with multi market and quota share accounts. While managing accounts NGA will often supervise field adjusters investigation, evaluation of damages, coverage, loss cost estimates, management of experts, control of the insurers exposures and losses and prompt fair equitable settlement according to fair claims handling requirements. The NGA will work in the domestic, London and some instances international markets dealing with reinsurance and excess carrier markets. Ability and willingness to travel to the site of major losses and catastrophes for assignments that may last several weeks. Licensees as required by state and local jurisdictions.

EGAs may also be involved in loss settlements up to multi million $ exposure working with Carriers, Complex Claims or SLA Management. Must have and develop skills (organizational and interpersonal) to manage expectations of insurers, insureds, brokers, lawyers, accountants and public adjusters. Work closely with peers in the general adjuster practice. Assist in sales calls, presentations and special projects. EGA may have experience in managing or appointment to National Accounts and SIR Retention Accounts as designated by markets or management. Experience dealing with multi market and quota share accounts.
