In this project management based role (non-production) you will provide your underwriting expertise and support to both the Traditional Underwriting team as well as the Underwriting Automation and Technology Team. You will help to interpret data and sources of information, develop and maintain severity scores and related underwriting rule sets derived from this information. You will work closely with the UW Technology team on various projects. This is a non production underwriting role, but within the UW department. At least some (1-2 years) Technology based project related to Life Underwriting Automation and Rules Engines is required.
You will function as a resource for underwriting expertise and participate in project based work to research new technology like (Electronic Health Records) that can be used to automate. You will help to monitor and continuously improve upon the current electronic underwriting program. Help shape and define the rulesets and guidelines, work with Actuarial on Predictive modeling, provide reporting and documentation, working with Rx and the related scoring systems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. We are looking for a minimum of 8 years experience in Life Underwriting. Strong preference for project work (1-2 years minimum) that involves automation and rules engine technology. Any experience with Electronic Health Records will be a plus.
Preferred: Industry designation such as FALU, FLMI, ALU, ACS
Other desired knowledge and experience: Severity scores, scoring systems, Natural language Processing (Text Mining), account management (client interface), project management, participation in underwriting related studies, strong communication skills (oral and written)
This is a full time permanent role and will be eligible to work 100% remote (from home).
