Job Details
AAA East Central is looking for a Full-Time (40 hrs/wk) Auditor at our Pittsburgh (East Liberty) corporate office. Benefits include health care coverage, paid time off, 401(k), Pension and more!
Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct reviews of assigned financial and operational areas for medium to small scope operations. Develop review plans/programs. Review work of other staff auditors.
- Assist in preliminary reviews of assigned financial and operational areas. Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of business systems, including Finance, Underwriting, Claims, Sales, and other operations.
- Inspect, identify, and document system of financial and operational controls through interviews, review of documents, questionnaires, manuals and publications. Prepare work papers to support audit findings and show evidence of audit work. Prepare flowcharts analyzing systems and procedures to identify key controls.
- Perform data analysis reviews using ACL software to determine if any trends, patterns, or anomalies exist.
- Analyze processes and procedures to determine reliability and compliance by testing key controls. Display an understanding of auditing techniques and gather pertinent information through interviews and analytical inspection of documents and the application of appropriate auditing techniques.
- Prepare written audit reports with evaluations of areas reviewed, including summarized objectives, scopes, findings, and recommendations to management for improvement. Make presentations to management and to executive staff on the results of audits.
- Distinguish between critical and non-critical matters when assisting in the identification of controls, control weaknesses, and associated exposures. Perform, or assist in performing, investigations such as potential fraud, potential conflict of interest, stolen property, etc.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- 2-4 years prior experience in internal auditing preferred.
- 2-4 years experience in accounting or property/casualty insurance considered in lieu of auditing experience.
- Moderate knowledge of business, insurance, claims, sales, banking, accounting and auditing principles desired.
- Moderate proficiency using personal computer and Microsoft Office software products required.
- Moderate knowledge of mainframe applications desired.
- Professional certification of CPA/CIA/CISA/CFE, equivalent experience, or current progress towards obtaining professional certification is preferred.
- Ability to travel for club business required.
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
