Position Summary:

The Manager, Accounting / Financial Reporting, RT Specialty will have the opportunity to gain broad experience in our growing business, working in a top-quality team. The manager plays a key role in supporting our GAAP accounting requirements for RT and has the opportunity to assist with acquisitions and other ad hoc projects.

Essential Functions:

• Oversight of accounting generated from the segment, including the business segments revenue recognition, compensation accruals, and the month end close process
• Review balance sheet reconciliations, prepare and/or review variance analyses, and review P&Ls for consumption by senior business leaders and RSG Corporate Controllership
• Ensuring appropriate financial reporting processes within Premium Accounting and Surplus Lines are designed and functioning effectively in accordance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies
• Preparation of financial reports including competitive analysis, compensation analysis, and/or internal benchmarking and performance
• Contributes to internal control framework as control owner over the business segments accounting processes, including development of additional controls as needs are identified
• Work effectively with other teams (i.e. HR, IT, Treasury) to develop report improvements and drive automation efforts
• Preparation and tracking of annual budget and financial forecasts, including revenue and expense analysis
• Assistance with due diligence and integration planning on potential and successful acquisitions
• Perform and present special projects or analysis to company leadership as needed
• Assistance with internal and external audits
• Ensure business leader decisions are properly reflected in financial results

Education/Experience/Skills:

• CPA Required
• Minimum 5 years experience in Accounting / Financial Reporting Role
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles (including ASC 606) and internal control framework
• Strong analytical skills, decision-making capabilities, and problem solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Experience in public accounting is preferred
