Job Description
Position is responsible for technical aspects of reinsurance and retro accounts, including working with various systems, gathering and completing documentation, preparing and providing necessary communications and support for internal and external parties.
Key Responsibilities
Account Set Up, Maintenance and Support
- Prepare, maintain and follow up on warehouse agreements, retro agreements, reinsurance and trust agreements and amendments, ensuring properly completed and fully executed
- Gather, review and process all required documents for reinsurance companies (licenses, By Laws, Articles of Incorporation, bank documents for trust accounts, etc.)
- Set up and make necessary changes for reinsurance companies and retro accounts in appropriate systems
- Review documents and reports for completeness, may author routine reports and summaries
- Complete mathematical cross-checking and reasonableness check of data for obvious discrepancies
- Verify input and output for adherence to documentation
- Responsible for accurate and timely execution of processes and reports
- Research, analyze, and resolve basic issues
- Demonstrate exceptional organization skills to handle multiple and high volume of activities
- Responsible for achieving results and supporting team members as needed
- Capable of independent work with management guidance on new and unfamiliar projects
Customer Service
- Promptly respond to technical inquiries, provide resolution guidance and furnish information to the client and/or internal personnel
- Provide support to agents, dealers, TPAs and strategic accounts, as it relates to various reinsurance requests, completion of documents, processes and other inquiries
- Explain reinsurance programs and procedures (set up procedures, agreements, required documentation, etc.) to internal and external parties
- Communicate with trustees (banks) and reinsurance managers on issues and/or outstanding requests
Process Improvement
- Streamline or eliminate redundant or unnecessary work
- Create innovative process changes
- Leverage technology in process improvement
- Prioritize workflow and tasks
Key Responsibilities (Cont'd)
Maintain Updated Procedures/Forms and Execute Testing for Applications and Program Changes
- Periodically update procedures and forms
- Complete testing and report results of new hardware/software and program changes
- Assist in gathering information/documentation for and providing responses to internal and external auditors, Home Office Legal and Accounting, states and other regulatory authorities
Maintain Effective Working Relationships
- Work effectively with various AORs, corporate personnel and external parties (banks, consultants, etc.)
- Exhibit good communication skills
- Function in a team environment
- General working knowledge of department goals and objectives
- General working knowledge of company organization, structure, policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite knowledge
- Advanced organization skills
- Ability to interpret complicated situations/issues and take appropriate action(s)
- Ability to input data into multiple systems across multiple product lines
- Ability to multi-task in a high pressure, high volume environment
- Ability to interpret incoming communications
- Ability to create and send communications to internal and external parties
- 2 to 3 years of experience in a customer support position, which included processing required documents
- Bachelors Degree preferred
The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
