Senior Project Lead - Application Development

The Automobile Club of Southern California is seeking an experience Project Lead who can provide leadership and direction for application systems projects of major importance or complexity, or for multiple intermediate/small projects or maintenance activities. 

           

 

Requirements:

 

  • Thorough understanding of a formal set of proven methods for the design, development, testing, and implementation of applications software.
  • Working knowledge of project planning and management tools such as Microsoft Project.
  • Working knowledge of the technologies used in projects such as:
  • Relational Database Management Systems (DB2, Microsoft SQL, Oracle)
  • CICS
  • Mainframe Programming Languages (COBOL II, PL/I, SAS)
  • Information Engineering Facility (IEF)
  • Client/Server application technologies (Visual Basic, Composer, JAVA, etc.)
  • Application Vendor Packages
  • Other new technologies as they are deployed within the IT organization
  • Advanced verbal and written communications skills
  • Advanced ability to express complex technical concepts in terms less technical people can understand.
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Advanced teamwork, interpersonal, and mentoring skills; ability to build a team and to work well within a team environment.

Qualifications

  • Four year college degree in information systems, technology, or related area of computer science or equivalent work experience.
  • Eight or more years' experience planning, managing, designing and deploying data processing and systems projects.
