Advance your career at Liberty Mutual Insurance - A Fortune 100 Company. About the team:   The Reporting and Analytics team in Legal Strategic Services (LSS) provides advanced analytics, strategic reporting, and predictive modeling to help our stakeholders continuously improve their legal related processes and results.  We apply leading edge analytic platforms and modeling techniques, integrating both traditional and unstructured data from multiple litigation, billing, and claims systems, to provide our business partners with insights on key legal metrics and trends   About this role:   LSS is seeking a highly motivated Data Solution Analyst to join our Data Strategy team. This role is part of a new team being built out and provides an opportunity to play a role in helping to shape the direction the team goes. In this role you will help enable a data-driven culture throughout LSS in order to achieve our goal of becoming a best in class Legal Organization. We closely partner with our LSS peers as well as the broader Legal department to ensure that our organization has access to the information they need to develop trusted insights and business solutions. The role will include regular touch points with stakeholders across the organization to gather information needs, promote adoption of certified data, and execute on the data strategy roadmap.  Responsibilities:
  • Assists in the building and maintenance of the data strategy roadmap, which will be used to drive alignment among executives, business leaders, reporting & analytics, and IT teams.
  • Executes on a portion of the data strategy roadmap. Assignment may be based on business function, data capability, or imperative, depending on the needs at the time.
  • Participates in the design and development of data solutions that enables effective self-service data consumption, and can describe their value to the customer.
  • Applies a working knowledge of the principles of metadata, lineage, business definitions, compliance, and data security to project work.
  • Proactively identifies and manages the resolution of data quality issues.
  • Ensures data solutions include deliverables required to achieve high quality data.

Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other quantitative discipline and 1 or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficient in MS applications, knowledge of the SQL coding language preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
  • Candidate should display intellectual curiosity and motivation to work towards becoming a thought leader in areas of responsibility.
  • Ability to grasp new technologies and concepts needed to progress initiatives, while demonstrating an understanding of the use of data in solving a business use case.
