Job Summary
The Data Analytics job family is responsible for collaborating with clients to make objective customer-focused and data-driven decisions by providing analytical insight, actionable data and recommendations. Responsible for projects, providing analytics support, and serving in a consultant role across Operations.
The Senior Consultant II is responsible for breaking down business problems into structured analysis by assessing the requirements and/or business impact to arrive at recommended solutions in operational analytics. Independently, the consultant will provide an understanding of data to produce insights and actionable recommendations in the form of analytic projects, striving to positively impact and influence operational efficiencies and business decisions. The consultant will have a passion for problem solving, comfort with ambiguity and the ability to think conceptually, analytically and creatively. Will also be able to lead team discussions and peer reviews to ensure the successful implementation of projects. Provides unsolicited support to the Analytics team lead by offering suggestions for improvement and generating ideas for new projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages projects and program execution of moderate complexity. Implements new program solutions and solves analytical problems that are uncommon. Determines own work priority and timelines. Set timeframes for self and team members. Allocates work and mentors new team members.
- Develops and implement analytical and/or statistical methodologies for evaluating Operations processes, business problems, and/or ROI of products and services.
- Identify actionable insights and recommendations to influence the direction of the business by effectively communicating results across functional groups.
- Develop analytics story and visual presentation strategies to ensure data is conveyed in meaningful and interpretive formats for all audience levels.
- Analyzes moderately complex structured and unstructured data from a number of sources to identify key drivers.
- Provides recommendations and forecasts operational volume for work condition and overarching Operations staffing model versus the service area or departmental models.
- Reviews results, identifies variances to planned performance, analyzes causes of variance and make actionable recommendations to frontline leaders
- Performs data analysis and evaluates trend analysis using statistical methods
- Identifies data elements needed to support business objectives and improve programs.
- Integrates technical knowledge with business goals and strategy
- Presents insights and findings on major projects to senior leadership. Effectively communicates logic and technical processes supporting the analytic solutions.
- Effectively consult others and influence organizational change, behavior and results
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (ex: SUMIF, vlookup/hlookup, conditional formatting, pivot tables, if)
- Experience with relational databases and data warehouses (Oracle, Teradata)
- Knowledge of data management (Business Objects, Tableau, SQL) - Ability to code queries in NODE
- data visualization exp.
- Strong communication and presentation skills. (Ability to tell story utilizing the data and present to leadership.)
