Position Summary

Reporting directly to the head of operations, the Product and Compliance Manager is responsible for the market and client-facing product positioning and Federal/State/Municipal regulatory compliance aspects related to administration of leave and disability programs. Under limited direction, this position will work with sales, account management, clients, in-house and external legal counsel and corporate compliance to develop, refine and ensure the process developed is in line with market advancements as well as compliance with changing and emerging regulations. This position is key in the delivery and maintenance of an absence and disability administration product that optimizes business value and attracts and retains new clients.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert for Absence and Disability Management
  • Ensure market advantage and customer service and satisfaction with product design, compliance and delivery
  • Serve as the market-facing representative and point of contact for sales and customers
  • Focus and strong emphasis on customer interactions within the products
  • Support RFP, field/account management, marketing, legal or operations to meet committed deadlines related to product changes or refinements
  • Act as lead in demos, planning, communication, and training related to assigned product development
  • Act as overall Product Owner for Absence and Disability lines
  • Demonstrate exemplary presentation and communication skills (verbal & written) through interactions with field, legal, clients, stakeholders and operations for the assigned product lines
  • Track, investigate and report out on customer enhancement requests, market capabilities, and the companys overall market product direction
  • Provide product/market place direction throughout the project lifecycle
  • Working with marketing, accountable for product collateral and documentation for current and ongoing functionality and the appropriate distribution channels
  • Working with corporate compliance and legal, ensure legal and regulatory compliance on all disability/leave product offerings
  • Direct management of a small group of product/compliance related direct reports
  • Upholds the Crawford Code of Conduct

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in identifying, designing, analyzing compliance issues, market trend research and reporting, recommending and implementing efficient, innovative business disability and absence administration solutions
  • BA/BS degree and/or 5+ years related work experience at either a TPA or Carrier in the absence/disability industry.
  • State Health and Life Insurance License a plus
  • Disability/Absence certifications (CPDM for example) a plus
  • Expertise and industry reputation in the absence & disability benefits field
  • Prior experience with direct employee supervision of 5+ employees
  • Project management, research and marketing experience, and the ability to market organizational strengths successfully
  • Superior analytical skills, strategic planning, communication, presentation and listening skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple and complex tasks in a demanding work environment and follow-through and up
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Proven management skills in leading large, complex projects
  • Ability to manage, motivate, and mentor others regardless of positional authority
  • Completion of continuing education in accord with internal business requirements
