The Global Risk Solutions (GRS) Capital & ERM group is seeking a highly motivated individual to lead its Capital Modeling and Analytics group. You will lead a team of actuaries responsible for designing, developing, and implementing dynamic financial analysis solutions for the Global Risk Solutions organization. He/She will be managing a team to continually improve the capabilities of the GRS Capital Model, parameterizing associated risk distributions, providing analyses of risk/reward trade-offs, and developing risk reporting. You will need very strong analytical abilities, enjoy distilling complex concepts down to salient information for interested audiences, have good business judgment, enjoy identifying and solving complex capital related problems, and be comfortable driving important analyses that will receive significant visibility.

Responsibilities:

As Senior Actuary for this modeling team, you will be responsible for setting the direction for improvements and maintenance of the capital model, its inputs, and the processes supporting the model. You will also provide consultation to senior management and staff regarding capital model dynamics and capital analytics

  • You will lead annual capital modeling production run process, which (among other uses) results in the attribution of capital to the GRS business unit
  • Lead or participate on cross-Liberty efforts on risk modeling and partners with senior business leaders to offer solutions for loss modeling of commercial and specialty lines of business.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Reserving, and Underwriting to understand the business and guide development of Risk Analytic tools that accurately reflect the business
  • Develops departmental policies & procedures.

Qualifications:
  • FCAS or equivalent actuarial designation, or advanced degree combined with relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Finance, or Economics required.
  • 10+ years progressively responsible experience, including supervisory experience
  • Strong analytical skills with solid understanding of all casualty actuarial techniques, standards, and assumptions
  • Ability to establish and build effective relationships within and outside the organization
  • Strong communicator with ability to influence others
  • Demonstrated ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing to all levels of management
  • Ability to balance multiple initiatives and prioritize incoming requests
  • Comfort with solving new problems and generating new ideas
  • Very strong analytical skills with understanding of core casualty actuarial methods and technique
  • Ability to build complex models
  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to adapt to changing needs
  • Experience with financial modeling and forecasting
