Engle Martin & Associates is seeking a Finance Manager to lead and guide the financial planning and analysis functions for this high growth division. This role will report to the Divisional Controller, and will be a thought partner to the divisions senior leadership team. This role is responsible for examining, analyzing, and evaluating the divisions financial activities, and will play an integral part in mapping out the divisions financial future. This role will manage a senior financial analyst by providing mentoring and development for success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Planning

  • Builds, maintains, and continually improves the divisions financial planning process to provide management with a current view of short and long range expectations
  • Helps develop long range targets that balance the interests of multiple stakeholders including clients, employees, and shareholders
  • Partners with the divisions business leaders to develop long range plans that meet the desired targets; creates financial models with appropriate business drivers that effectively support the planning process
  • Leads the annual budgeting process; evaluates the process and makes appropriate changes to simplify the process; uses OneStream software to shorten the budget cycle
  • Design and implement a rolling forecast to establish expectations for near term revenue and earnings performance.

Financial Analysis

  • Presents thoughtful, high-quality financial analysis to business leaders to help improve the business
  • Analyzes financial and relevant operational data and explains variances to forecast, budget, and prior period results; key areas include revenue, compensation, and headcount
  • Tracks and evaluates quantitative and qualitative benefits of spending requests
  • Designs and implements metrics and dashboards to track and report progress on break through initiatives;
  • Leads special analysis projects including periodic reviews of the divisions cost structure, work force productivity, and profitability analysis (geographical, by program, or by line of business); presents findings to management with the goal of optimizing financial results including revenue growth, profit improvement, and cash flow optimization
  • Responds to ad-hoc requests with timeliness and the appropriate level of thoroughness; answers pertinent questions even when not specifically asked
  • Supports financial due diligence and integration efforts related to acquisitions.

KPIs & Metrics

  • Leads the preparation and analysis of key operational metrics, ratios, and business scorecards
  • Highlights business challenges and opportunities to allow management to proactively course correct and/or improve performance
  • Periodically evaluates the effectiveness of KPIs by ensuring they inspire action that drives desired outcomes

Technology

  • Learns and understands new technologies
  • Applies learnings to automate tasks, eliminate redundancies, and maintain a highly efficient finance function
  • Improves the work experience of self and others by maximizing time spent on value added activities and minimizing manual tasks
  • Will be a key project team member as the business develops and implements a new claims management or ERP level system.

Business Partner

  • Facilitates communication within the finance and accounting team, with other functional teams (sales, marketing, client services, HR, IT) and with business leaders
  • Supports the Divisional Controller and Divisional CFO in driving the cultural initiatives of Engle Martin through sound business advice, solid alignment with the goals and objectives of the Business, and timely and consistent communications to the organization.
  • Support audit activities

Supervision

  • Manages a Senior Financial Analyst
  • Evaluates, mentors, and develops the Senior Financial Analyst

Job Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or business; masters degree in Business, Finance or Accounting is a plus.
  • 10 years of experience in financial planning and analysis. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong financial modeling experience.
  • Strong Project management skills that allow high quality and timely delivery of improvement and analysis projects.
  • Demonstrates thorough skill set in a variety of office software, including Microsoft Office Suite (including, but not necessarily limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, SharePoint, Dynamics and Access). Advanced knowledge of Excel is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI is a plus.
  • Experience utilizing ERP system required. Skilled in use of internet for business research purposes; sound written and oral business communication skills, including formatting and preparation of memoranda, letters, and reports; basic mathematical skills; diplomacy; fine and gross motor skills, as well as mental requirements, to operate standard office equipment, including personal computer, multi-line office telephone system and wireless communication and computing devices, photocopiers and scanning devices, audio visual equipment, and other routine equipment. Knowledge of MAS 500 accounting software is a plus. Knowledge of OneStream Corporate Performance Management software is a plus.
  • Effective at time management, prioritization, and organizing skills; excellent interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills; demonstrates teamwork, compassion, and respect toward others.
  • Professional services or financial industry experience highly preferred.
