The Compensation Operations Specialist focuses on providing the infrastructure that helps managers make and deliver good decisions about pay for international employees. This includes leading, communicating and administering the International pay programs and processes through planning, coordination and aligning the work of others. This position can be located in Boston or London. Reports to the Manager, Compensation Operations. Responsibilities:
  • Plans, leads and coordinates the annual cycle activities, including communications, incentive plans and merit administration across various internal (to Global Compensation / T&ES) and external stakeholders.
  • Develops and maintains incentive plan participation records, payout confirmation files, ongoing tracking and system updates for select International employees.
  • Creates data collection files consistent with the vendor's format so that it meets the data specifications and systems requirements needed to create uploads to MyCompTool.  Work with in-country compensation partners to ensure adherence to data formats and to communicate year-over-year changes.
  • Represents the department's interests and consults on projects and topics that affect Compensation programs, systems, processes and/or policies.
  • Develops, updates and maintains standard work related to the annual cycle for International employees.
  • Works with vendors and others to design, maintain and administer systems used to administer pay programs; runs the weekly vendor meetings during payout cycle, project management, and interactions with the vendor to ensure Liberty needs are met.
  • Validates all non-US plan participants' status related to eligibility for chargeback of costs; coordinate annual process with HR Managers, Finance and Executive Comp.
  • Oversees monthly core process work completed by Comp Ops Administrator (Q1); reviews monthly core processes work (Finance notifications, headcount lists, accruals, etc.) by Comp Administrator for accuracy and tracking purposes (Q2-4)

 

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of compensation, programs and technology
  • Ability to effectively work with partners in all countries and be flexible about working alternative times to support partners in different time zones
  • Ability to quickly learn, articulate and translate complex business requirements to create plans, systems, and programs
  • Ability to develop, implement and adapt project plans as priorities change
  • Ability to make good business decisions, sometimes with ambiguous or complete data
  • Other attributes desired include humility, confidence, resiliency, self-awareness, and adaptability.
  • Five or more years of direct or transferable experience, preferably some of which includes supporting international locations
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
