Job Summary
Responsible for supporting and maintaining data security systems and processes. Independently analyzes basic data security problems and helps resolve data security events. Identifies potential data security improvements within assigned area. Acts as a data security advocate and ensures adherence to established procedures and policies.This job does not manage others This job works under Moderate Supervision: Incumbent performs standard and routine assignments independently to conclusion; unusual problems which may require exceptions to procedures or processes are referred to the supervisor.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
The primary role will be to perform monitoring, analysis, and investigations of Intrusion Prevention events and alerts. Additionally this position would focus on supporting the Next Generation Network projects that require dedicated security resources. This would include the Regional HUB initiatives, Field Office SaaS support implementation, and IaaS security integration among others. This position will also work on developing strategic reporting and analytics of IPS data across the corporation. The candidate will work closely with current IPS SMEs to develop knowledge of Travelers architecture and design and how Travelers utilizes and strategically deploys IPS systems. The candidate will assist in system upgrades, troubleshooting, policy management, development of new features, and system support of the IPS program. This position will also provide backup support for the Travelers Vulnerability Scanning program.

Other duties may include:
Provide operational support, troubleshooting and maintenance of Security related processes, controls or products. Independently analyze and resolve problems of low complexity.
Configure, test, document and implement new or upgrades to security processes, controls or products as directed.
Under supervision, participates in resolving situations involving improper attempts to access or infiltrate our networks. Independently implement changes to area procedures or products as directed.
Support reviewing or identifying security events and escalating to management.
Participate in Security and enterprise projects as assigned.
Act as a security representative at design and new technology meetings.
May provide guidance to more junior employees.


Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.

One year of work experience within Computer Science or a related field required.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline preferred.Three years of relevant experience with data security practices, processes, and data security event investigation/resolution preferred.Experience providing high-level support with a comprehensive knowledge of specific IS Security methodologies, processes, and software packages and a conceptual understanding of other IS Security procedures and policies preferred.
