Job Summary
  • Demonstrates sound analytical and diagnostic skills dealing with issues that are not readily defined and/or conflict with available information. Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Participate in the analysis, design, development and testing of the most complex of Ab Initio and Big Data software components.
  • Develop a solid understanding of the various sources that feed into the warehouse and assist in laying out the overall architecture of the ETL application.
  • Create supporting documents that describe in details the overall ETL architecture of the application.
  • Work on day to day development tasks in priority order as assigned by the Tech Lead and Scrum Master
  • Develop, document and execute Unit Test Plans.
  • Adhere to application standards, best practices, and tool usage (as defined by Design Team).
  • Provide technical support during system testing of the application. Complete code migrations, manage versioning of ETL components, and manage DML changes with other in-flight projects.
  • Have a good working relationship with our offshore partners. Overcome time differences to keep project and development work moving forward without delay.
  • Contribute to implementation plan and other supporting implementation documents.
  • Participate in estimation activity for development efforts.


Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. 1 year of programming/development experience required.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
  • Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Statistics, or Mathematics
  • 2-5 years of experience in general application development in one or more of the following languages/technologies: ETL, Unix/KSH, SQL, XML/XSD, Hadoop/Big Data, MapReduce, WSDL, SoapUI or similar web-service client tools experience
  • 3+ years of Data Warehouse development experience preferred.
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with Ab Initio or similar Data Integration software suites (Informatica, Datastage, Talend, etc.) preferred.
  • 2+ years hands-on experience working with Messaging Queues (IBM MQ, Rabbit MQ, etc.)
  • 2+ years hands-on experience working with Real-Time Data Integration Products (Ab Initio Continuous Flows or comparable products)
  • Database technology such as Teradata, SQL Server & Oracle
  • Hands-on experience designing, developing and optimizing complex solutions that move and/or manipulate large volumes of data.
  • Hands-on experience and proficiency with SQL preferred.
  • Hands-on experience and proficiency with Unix/Linux and Korn shell scripting preferred.
  • Working knowledge and use of BI/DW development methodologies, standards and procedures
  • Experience working with onshore and offshore resources
  • Working experience in the SAFE (Scaled Agile Framework)
  • Should have strong knowledge on Connect direct, NAS setup, MVS connectivity, job schedulers, Continuous flow interface setup and debugging, MQ, and Database utilities

Team Orientation: Ability to foster relationships with peers to achieve objectives. Practices objectivity and openness to others' views. Able to recognize and support team priorities. Planning: Ability to manage time and competing priorities and provide management with accurate and timely status information. Able to effectively evaluate and estimate routine tasks with clear precedent Financial Awareness: Able to understand how the project schedule relates to budget.

Environmental/Work Schedules/Other
Requires weekend work hours. Requires overnight work hours. Requires holiday work hours (Federal and religious). Requires extended periods (1 or more weeks) of travel as needed. Requires travel up to 5% of time.
