Job Summary
Join the team that collaborates across Travelers to provide actionable insights to inform business decisions, drive winning strategies and enable the business to capitalize on change and trends. Enterprise Market Research (EMR) provides internal clients with objective, credible insights to help profitably grow the business, build the brand and positively position Travelers in the marketplace.

This position is responsible for providing strategic direction over research agenda development, planning, and execution of primary market research studies in support of Travelers businesses and functional areas with a focus on brand, advertising, digital marketing and communications. The position reports to the 2nd Vice President of Enterprise Market Research and has extensive interaction with the EMR leadership team, the department head and internal clients.



Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Accountabilities include:
Management and execution of quantitative and qualitative primary market research

Collaborating with senior leadership to identify high-impact research opportunities that are well-aligned with business priorities

Development and socialization of timely and actionable insights

Creation and presentation of visually engaging research presentations and reports

Working with business partners, EMR's Research Operations team and external vendors to ensure delivery of high quality research on time and within budget

Skills essential to the position include:
Primary market research experience and expertise (qualitative and quantitative)

Brand, advertising, digital marketing and/or communications research experience

Experience with data analysis and reporting

Analytical and problem solving skills

Survey sample design and weighting

Survey development

Sound project planning and execution abilities

Critical thinking, strategic thinkingExcellent relationship building, communication, consultation and influencing skills

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of market research or related experience.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
8 years of experience in market research and/or related fields preferred

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, data analytics or other relevant degree;

MBA or other advanced degrees preferred

Strong understanding of and experience with research methods, survey design, and a working knowledge of statistical and sampling methods and their appropriate applications

Strategic and critical thinker with demonstrated problem solving skills

Ability to effectively interact with and influence management audiences

Demonstrated ability to build productive working relationships across functional areas

Job Specific & Technical Skills & Competencies
Excellent listening, communication and presentation skills

Strong data analysis skills, including working knowledge of developing, maintaining and manipulating databases

Well-developed project management skills, including the ability to manage and deliver effectively on multiple priorities on-time and within budget

Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and develop employees preferred (as may be required over time)

Experience effectively managing and collaborating with market research vendors preferred

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Combination of both research vendor and client-side experience preferred

Property casualty and/or financial services industry experience a plus
