Under general direction, the Consultant, Advanced Analytics will conduct complex analysis for the GRM U.S. Claims Special Investigation Unit (SIU) to assist in monitoring the health of SIU operations. Identify trends and opportunities to drive forward changes in the SIU organization. Utilize data to better understand metrics and produce meaningful recommendations. Create analyses using SAS and use utilize statistical techniques to solve business problems. Provides support for projects of all sizes and complexity. Give presentations and report-outs to internal and external departments on results.

 

Position will be located in Boston, MA; occasional travel to Regional offices may be required.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Gather data, conduct analysis and develop recommendations that provide insight into the business results, drive SIU process enhancements and support the organization's financial and strategic objectives.

  • Serve as analytic lead for all proactive and predictive modeling efforts within SIU. Regularly create and refine SIU proactive reports and models. Identify new opportunities for proactively sourcing SIU investigations. Conduct regular monitoring of model usage. Provide guidance on implementation of proactive efforts. Drive proactive effort strategy through analytical insight. Partner with field to ensure success of the SIU proactive efforts.

  • Conducts high complexity analysis utilizing SAS (primarily Proc SQL) to monitor the health of SIU Operations.

  • Evaluate all SIU performance metrics and trends on a continuous basis. quantify the impact of and understand the movements of all trends and results.

  • Collaborate with internal partners to estimate and quantify the impacts of key initiatives.

  • Utilize complex statistical techniques to solve business problems.

  • Serves as point person for high complexity projects and lead own work streams.

  • Provides recommendations on processes to manager/mentor to drive continuous improvement.

  • Present analysis on a regular basis to Claims senior management team in a fashion that translates complex work into easy to digest story with an appropriate level of detail.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in quantitative field plus 5+ years of experience or Master's Degree in Business, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or any other quantitative field with 3+ years professional experience, or equivalent.

  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and SAS.

  • Must be able to read, create, and manipulate Proc SQL code in SAS.

  • Great attention to detail.

  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Must have good planning, analytical, decision-making and communication skills.

  • Experience with data management, tools, and common analytical principals.

  • Ability to apply more advanced analytical concepts to improve business outcomes.

  • Must be able to define, shape and drive projects to completion while effectively collaborating with others with little supervision.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills: able to clearly communicate multi- layered fraud information in an easy to understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing.

  • Proven ability to influence others and drive strategy

  • Experience with Power BI a plus
