Job Summary
Travelers Corporate Procurement is looking for a Travel Manager to join its Corporate Travel team in Hartford, CT. At Travelers, excellent customer service is a key to success. This role requires a driven individual who has experience working for a global organization, managing travel programs, maintaining strategic supplier relationships and supporting an expense-conscious culture.
The Travel Manager will be responsible for delivering travel services through creative and efficient processes while ensuring high customer satisfaction and maximizing travel policy compliance and cost savings. This position reports to the Director of Corporate Travel and supports the execution and management of the overall global travel program and policy. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Sourcing, Contract Implementation, Supplier Management Customer Service and day-to day activities for all Corporate Travel assigned categories. Expertise in all categories of the Corporate Travel Industry The position will serve as the key hotel and car rental point of contact for all Travelers employees and a supporting role for all other assigned categories as needed. This job does not manage others.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Guided by the Director of Corporate Travel, the Travel Manager: Is responsible for strategic sourcing, negotiation, contract implementation, and contract management, including customer service and the day-to-day issues related to the performance of hotel and car rental programs and/or any other Corporate Travel assigned categories. Makes business recommendations on travel program and project activities in alignment with business goals and objectives. Leads global travel projects including global implementations of specific programs and country-level launches. Optimizes supplier partnerships to drive key business results and to position Travelers as a preferred corporate client. Provides continuing benchmark analyses and recommendations for new technology and systems in the categories assigned to enhance the overall travel experience. Monitors the overall compliance to travel policy, spend visibility, customer satisfaction and cost savings of the overall Corporate Travel Program, especially the assigned travel categories. Develops strong working relationships with other functions (i.e. IT, Finance, HR, Corporate Security) and internal Stakeholders including Senior Leadership, Sales, and Executive Assistants. Leads quarterly and annual business reviews of assigned suppliers. Maintains knowledge of global travel industry and may attend travel-related conferences and external meetings. Designs and implements monthly travel training and webinars for new travelers and travel arrangers to educate them in the categories assigned. Demonstrates superior customer service by monitoring and addressing issues, developing trust with stakeholders, proactively resolving issues and effectively communicating proposed solutions. Collaborates with Corporate Security, Human Resources and other corporate functions to ensure secured processes and tools are integrated into the travel program. Escalates key issues to the Corporate Travel Program Director. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum five years' experience in Corporate Travel management, including procurement, contract management of travel programs, and spend analysis, cost drivers. Minimum three years' experience in strategic sourcing. Ability to travel 10% of time.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in business or travel management preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of travel industry latest trends and technology (i.e. on-line booking tools, travel apps) along with experience in benchmarking and critical analysis of service providers.

Excellent work ethic. Team player who is willing to support multiple areas of the business Ability to own and manage significant projects including travel system implementations. Detail oriented, organized, and efficient individual. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills and the ability to apply sound judgment in problem solving and decision making in complex business transactions. Ability to meet deadlines. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in groups as required, in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Licensing or Certificates
Professional Sourcing/Procurement (i.e. CPM) and Travel Management Certifications (i.e. CCTE, GTP) preferred.
