Global Retail Markets reserving is seeking an Assistant Actuary to be responsible for leading Special Projects across Short-Tailed Lines (Auto Physical Damage, Property Damage Liability, and Property). In this position, you will lead several key projects including methods innovation and Planning support. You will also will lead deep dives into areas of concern to identify and quantify risk to ACE. The ideal person will possess strong analytical and communication skills, as well as a proven ability to execute thoroughly in a reciprocal and innovative environment.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead segment reviews and deep dives for areas of opportunity and you will work collaboratively with Claims and Product business divisions to identify and quantify risk to ACE
  • Produce and present quarterly reserving analyses to Chief Actuaries; maintain and update reserving templates
  • Collaborate with cross-line team to develop creative and streamlined monitoring tools so you can provide quick and granular insights by line of business
  • Build and implement continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with other business teams and cross-functional partners
  • Act as a project manager for annual Planning work including development of Baselines and Cash Flows
  • Be the primary contact for annual Audit review, which requires you to work with the cross-lines team to provide data requested and answer questions as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • ACAS/FCAS preferred, or comparable actuarial education/designation combined with relevant experience
  • Proven ability to apply actuarial skills and business insight with 3 or more years of progressively responsible actuarial experience
  • Advanced communication skills; previous experience exchanging ideas and conveying complex information clearly and concisely with a confirmed ability to influence senior management and partners
  • Experience driving teamwork and collaborating across multiple departments and functions
  • Ability to lead projects and get work done through others
  • Experience with ResQ is a plus
