Job Details
AmTrust Financial Services is currently recruiting for a Manager of Corporate Accounting in Jersey City, New Jersey. The AFS Manager is responsible for the accounting of all holding company activities, including but not limited to: the production of periodic financial reports and analysis for the Parent Company, detailed maintenance of accounting records and related controls, and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:
- Account for the long term debt of the Company
- Account for the Companys incentive plans, including some share-based compensation accounting
- Record journal entries and reconcile accounts related to the Companys payroll and benefit plans
- Record fixed assets and intangible assets and related amortization
- Ensure that all other monthly and quarterly journal entries are accurately recorded, reviewed and properly documented
- Ensure that all monthly and quarterly account reconciliations are completed and any issues resolved in a timely manner
- Allocate certain Corporate expenses to other entities and ensure Intercompany balances reconcile and eliminate
- Prepare and maintain the appropriate level of documentation for all controls
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements and disclosures
- Provide Management with analysis or ad hoc schedules, as necessary
- Respond to external auditor requests
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or higher degree in accounting or finance
- Strong understanding of accounting theory
- 8+ years accounting/finance experience
- Public accounting/Big 4 experience preferred
- CPA designation preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Based G/L, Hyperion Financial Management or Kyriba a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and ability to learn new software programs
