Please note, there is a required 2-week training that will take place in Wheeling, IL.

Under limited supervision, this job is responsible for providing a superior level of customer service and attention to customers who have a vehicle that needs repaired. The individual virtually or physically inspects damage to a vehicle (which may include automobiles, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles and recreational vehicles), writes damage repair estimates, completes total loss valuations and negotiates moderately complex and occasionally complex settlements with repair facilities, tow yards, customers, and estimates repair times for rental/loss of use. This individual is also responsible for explaining coverage, estimates, claims, settlement, and rental processes to agents and/or customers. The individual delivers compassionate service that is fast, fair, and easy, to ensure customer retention. This role may be performed in an office, virturally, or in the Field. The individual provides work guidance and direction to less senior employees. The individual works independently, prioritizing the individual's own responsibilities, and managing the individual's own workload. The individual also consistently meets band level behaviors, production, quality, and/or customer service goals.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Makes and maintains a connection with the customer by understanding and meeting their needs; serves the customer with empathy; and follows up to ensure that customer needs have been met
- Researches and responds to moderately complex and occasionally complex customer communications, concerns, conflicts or issues
- Reviews customer satisfaction results; works independently to create personal action plans
File Documentation and Reporting
- Summarizes documents and enters into claim system notes
- Documents a claim file with notes, evaluations and decision making process
- May work the Triage Tool and partners with the Good Hands Repair Network for vehicles that may be potential total losses, and determines reparability and if repairs can be settled rapidly.
Damage Estimating
- Investigates moderately complex or occasionally complex files, reviews damage, takes photos, and determines reparability or total loss
- Prepares damage estimates or valuation for moderately complex or occasionally complex claims and locates parts
- Prepares, reviews, reconciles and/or approves supplements
- Conditions vehicles and prepares report for customer
- Determines valuation of salvage
- Evaluates diminished value in a moderately complex or occasionally complex claim
- Triage moderately complex and occasionally complex total loss claims
Claim Payment Processes - Issuance and Authority
- Processes claims payments
- Initiates payments (QCP, Fast Mobile Epay, etc) and pays appropriate parties
Negotiation and Settlement Guidance
- Negotiates and Settles moderately complex and occasionally complex claims in accordance with business unit best practices
Other Projects and Responsibilities
- Responds to moderately complex and occasionally complex arbitrations contentions
- May participate in one or more moderately complex and occasionally complex special assignments
- May serve as a committee team lead for medium-sized projects or as a committee team member on medium to large projects
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience
- Bachelors degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience or Auto body Technician program or High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED)
- Prior experience using auto estimating software, CCC Pathways, Audatex, Mitchell, etc strongly preferred
- Experience investigating evaluating, negotiating and setting complex claims strongly preferred
- ICAR platinum certification, ASE certification and/or an Adjusters license are especially desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a passion for helping others.
- Strong organizational and computer skills.
- Persistence and the ability to work through and solve problems.
