Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Data Analyst is responsible for supporting the Management Operating System in TPA Claims Operations and for providing a variety of data and analytical services.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the daily operations of the Management Operating System Dashboard tracking capacity utilization and productivity across the organization including:

• Update staff additions/deletions
• Update staff branch/supervisor changes
• Update job category changes
• Document all changes for headcount reporting
• Maintain MOS Dashboard data quality
• Update of monthly operational reports (i.e. span of control, trending, headcount).
• Development of basic ad-hoc MOS Dashboard related analyses for senior management and the Claims Operations teams
• Interface with the Information Technology staff that maintains the MOS Dashboard
• Develop successful working relationships with other departments despite fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous work environment.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

• The Data Analyst will report to the Director of Performance Management and Metrics

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

• The Data Analyst has no direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

• 3+ years of progressive quantitative analysis experience, with demonstrated achievement in significant analysis and reporting deliverables

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Excellent analytical skills as well as proven ability to plan, prioritize, and handle multiple projects with tight deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to details
• Effective at stretch target/goal setting & achievement both organizational and personal
• Must be motivated to maintain a high level of accuracy

KNOWLEDGE:

• Advanced proficiency in Excel (Pivot tables, Vlookups, etc)
• Demonstrated proficiency interfacing with mainframe IT systems

Decisions routinely made include:

• Position requires independent thinking and ability to use good judgment when developing analyses and in dealings with senior management and the Claims Operations teams.
