Job Description
The Claims Integrated Digital Enterprise Design and Delivery team is responsible for the design and delivery of digital platforms, capabilities and business model innovation that enable claim service model transformation. Major functions within the role include strategy and roadmap developent, build and buy technology decisioning, integration of external partner services and solutions, management of business architecture for simple sustainable integration and technology tool development, internal technology and business team engagement for assured delivery, management of budget, scope, timelines and program governance.
This senior leader role resides within the claim business unit and with a mission to transform the existing claim business model to one that is digital first and effortless. The Interegrated Digital Enterprise team is organized around a business product development structure where products and processes are designed and delivered using agile methodology in close partnership with technology, data science and business experts. This individual is a thought partner for senior executives developing strategy which includes annual planning, visulaization, identification of iniatives that return high value both short and long term and then executive on initiatives. They are responsible for overall capability development, business architecture, integrations across claims and the enterprise platforms.
The role is equal parts strategy, engineering, business architecture, delivery and Go-To-market focused on the digital claim experience and business model innovations. The individual leads mulitple large and highly complex program level initiatives, along with leading individuals that support the development and deployment of capabilities and platforms. Platform and Product Owners, Business Architects, Business Analysts, and Project Management report to this position, while influencing Claims, technology, data science and enterprise stakeholders along with internal and external strategic partners.
Key Responsibilities
Product Management
- Established and Influences vision, strategy, and roadmap development based on insights from internal and external market trends and opportunities
- Leads development of strategic roadmaps for platform and capability development
- Provides oversight of and leads the overall design, build, and maintanaince/enhancements of highly complex claim digital transformation platforms and capabilities, ensuring alignment with strategic Claims Integrated Digital Enterprise vision
- Partners with the Go-To-Market & Deployment Strategy function and leaders to ensure successful deployment and widespread adoption of new capabilities
- Lead and influence the work of Product Owners, Business Architects, Business Analysts, and Project Management in the development and deployment of new capabilities
- Own the Claims IDE governance effort including prioritization, sequencing, funding and claim strategic plan development
- Oversight and influence towards optimal solutions to address complex needs, in partnership with stakeholders from Claims, Allstate technology and strategic partners
- Influences and works with business architecture and Allstate Technology architecture to ensure the successful build and integration of new capabilities in to existing business processes and models
Strategic Thinking
- Identifies, analyzes, and mitigates risks to ensure timely execution and benefit realization
- Serves as a subject matter expert on complex Claims IDE capability issues with other Claims leaders and officers and strategic partners
- Manage competing stakeholder interests and representing Allstate externally and Allstate claims internally on matters that represent large degrees of change
- Communicates technical Claims IDE concepts to non-technical audiences and develops effective frameworks to drive effective decisioning
Customer Service
- Ensures and enables staff to maintain a connection with the customer by understanding and meeting their needs; serves the customer with empathy; and follows up to ensure that customer needs have been met
- Manages and resolves escalated customer communications, concerns, conflicts or issues
- Reviews customer satisfaction results; develops and directs business unit action plans
Field Operations and Oversight
- Collaborates with senior field management within assigned discipline to provide expertise and oversight in establishing and achieving goals and objectives and aligning unit goals with corporate goals
- Using advanced knowledge and statistical analysis of trends, alternatives and risk factors, and leveraging the knowledge and skills of team members, other Home Office departments, and field leadership, designs, develops, and oversees the implementation of claim policy, processes or procedures
- Monitors field compliance with laws and regulations
- Participates in strategy sessions, idea generation and feedback sessions and responsible for aggressive but attainable long-range objectives in assigned area of responsibility
Supervisory Management
- Creates a productive and supportive work environment of highly engaged employees who create highly satisfied customers
- Ensures understanding of business objectives, results, processes, etc. with their direct reports
- Reviews employee work quality and interactions with customers through conducting ride-alongs or sit-alongs and file reviews
Job Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience
- Ability to interact effectively, and coach others on interacting effectively, with internal or external customers and act with empathy
- Applies highly advanced knowledge of insurance policy, coverage, and regulation
- Applies advanced industry knowledge to discipline practices, including best practices, to support the business unit
- Applies highly advanced ability to leverage learned technical skills in support of team objectives and in the development of critical data, analytical, and technological capabilities
- Applies highly advanced conflict management and problem resolution skills in managing internal and external customer relationships
- Applies highly advanced problem solving skills to continuously improve business outcomes
- Ability to assist leadership in achieving business unit objectives
- Provides highly advanced individual decision making within authority limits
- Works within highly complex assignments requiring specialized knowledge in breadth and/or depth in area of expertise
- Applies advanced skill in motivation, organization, training, coaching and facilitation of teamwork
- Ability to drive progress in an entrepreneurial manner, moving quickly and taking calculated risks when deemed appriopriate
- Applies advanced skills related to business architecture, portfolio management, system integration, and product delivery
