POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sr. Commission Specialist is responsible for providing analytical reporting, researching and resolving complex commission issues, and improving external agency partner experience on the VUE Producer Portal. This position is the primary back-up to the Commission Analyst and will become a subject matter expert for the VUE system (Agent appointments and Agent compensation). The Sr. Commission Specialist will work closely with external business partners, Agency, Licensing and Contracting, Sales, Marketing, Finance and IT management to ensure all critical business needs are being met.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acts as primary back-up to the Commission Analyst for all Analyst functions.
  • Monitors, performs testing and drives changes to VUE Producer Portal functionality to enhance Agent experience.
  • Researches and resolves VUE commissions due that were not included in the data feed from VUE to the General ledger/SAP for payment to Agency partners. Works closely with Sr. Contracting Specialist, Commission Specialists, VUE vendor when necessary and IT to ensure business partners receive all commissions that are due.
  • Researches and resolves policies and premium load exceptions from IT systems that were excluded from data feed into the VUE system.
  • Manages External Agents Quarterly Mass Terminations process, including identification and list creation, communication to agents and agents up lines and follow up for agents terminated with debt. Works closely with Supervisor of L&C and Finance throughout the process.
  • Assists and/or manages Agent Debt program for both active and terminated agents. Works closely with VUE vendor, Agency Director, Agency, Manager, Finance and Legal Departments.
  • Develops appropriate reporting and communication tools to disseminate information in a timely manner and targeted to audience (direct management and senior management).
  • Performs on-going testing of system changes in UAT environment.
  • Performs QR/QC process for commissions team.
  • Acts as a key resource to Sales to provide guidance, answer questions, ensure follow up to non-routine sales commission and reporting inquiries. Provides ad-hoc reporting as needed.
  • Applies knowledge of commission and ERA policies and procedures.
  • Defines administrative processes and conducts periodic audits to ensure that data in \SAP, VUE and other commission and ERA related systems are accurate.
  • Continues to simplify, streamline and recommend improvements to improve the overall efficiency of reporting and commission and ERA administration.
  • Ensures all Company policies and guidelines and Compliance requirements are followed as it relates to sales commissions and ERA.
  • Fosters, promotes and contributes to a positive team environment.
  • Understands the importance of and demonstrates the utmost confidentiality.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 Years relevant work experience.
    • Experience in like systems.
    • Experience in UAT environment of software systems.
    • Proven technical aptitude to learn new systems and maintain them.
  • 3 years of progressive experience in an analyst/administrative capacity.
  • 2 years of commission analysis/administration experience preferred.
  • Industry knowledge a plus.
  • General or Sales commission/payroll related experience.
  • Knowledge of VUE or other commissions systems a plus.
  • High level of integrity, with the ability to maintain confidences.

SKILLS:

  • Extreme attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to persuade, persist and follow through on projects/tasks.
  • Excellent proven analytical, organizational, time management, multi-tasking and follow up skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, e-mail systems.
  • Preferred familiarity with SAP, VUE, CRM systems, SQL and XML.
  • Solid verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills with the ability to make management level and external business partner presentations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • High level of competence with organization, prioritization, and multitasking in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision making and follow-through skills.
  • High Level of integrity, with the ability to maintain confidences.
