Data, Discovery, and Decision Science (D3)

Analytics Engineering
The Analytics Engineering team builds software products specifically tailored to D3s mission. We are creating scalable platforms for the deployment of cutting-edge predictive analytics, machine learning, and randomized experiments across the entire enterprise. As such the team gets to support and collaborate with a large part of D3 and the broader company. We succeed by maintaining a relentless focus on our customers using Lean Startup and Agile principles.
The Role
As the leader of the Engineering team within Analytics Engineering, you will be responsible for the technical implementation of a suite of software products in alignment to both internal customers' needs and the Director of Analytics Engineerings vision and goals. You will manage the Technical Leads, each of which manages a team of developers. This role is critical to the success of the AE team as the technical thought leader and key people developer.
Your day-to-day looks like:
- Building and shaping a team of engineers by hiring, coaching, mentoring, giving feedback, and supporting their careers
- Supporting timely delivery of technical solutions to business problems
- Advocate for and advance modern best practices for software development, engineering, and team organization
- Partnering with the broader technology organization to make sure the team has the infrastructure support required for our products
- Promote a culture of collaboration across the teams as well as with the AE Product team
Job Qualifications
Who you are:
You have 10+ years of experience as a software engineer, and 3+ years of experience managing engineers
You have a proven track record of guiding and developing junior and senior engineers
You are an expert in Agile, DevOps, and Microservices environment
You are a highly innovative thought leader who is up-to-date with the leading-edge technologies, perform gap analysis, and envisions and articulates change
You are respected by engineers for your technical prowess and design thinking
You enjoy architecting systems for scalability and flexibility
You have a good experience with:
- Modern programming languages like Python, Java, and C++
- Building APIs using REST and SOAP
- DevOps and CI/CD tools like Jenkins
- RDBMS, and possibly NoSQL and Redis
You may have some experience with:
- Major cloud platforms from Amazon, Pivotal, Google, and Microsoft
- Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Kafka

Virtualization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
You are a very good interpersonal communicator and collaborator
