As a Director I, IC on the National Insurance (NI) Casualty Product Management team, you will have the opportunity to influence the profitability and direction of the General Liability (GL) line of business. Through in-depth and complex analyses, you will evaluate the acceptability of risk associated with various coverage offerings and classes of business, as well as identify emerging trends and/or opportunities. You will be responsible for creating and developing actionable recommendations to improve GL line of business performance. You will be responsible for maintaining the existing product set and developing new product offerings, as well as implementing and executing segment-specific, regional and/or country-wide initiatives to support the strategic direction of the product line.

Through in-depth and complex analyses, you will evaluate the acceptability of risk associated with various coverage offerings and classes of business, as well as identify emerging trends and/or opportunities. You will be responsible for creating and developing actionable recommendations to improve GL line of business performance. You will be responsible for maintaining the existing product set and developing new product offerings, as well as implementing and executing segment-specific, regional and/or country-wide initiatives to support the strategic direction of the product line.
Responsibilities:
- Perform complex, advanced analysis of the associated product lines, analyze trend and develop tactical and strategic recommendations that drive underwriting decisions and /or influence countrywide decisions and initiatives .
- Using information gathered from analysis and research, provide tactical and strategic recommendations to address profitability of the GL line of business.
- Develop new underwriting positions and guidance for the GL line of business.
- Maintain existing product set and develop new coverage forms and endorsements to support product offerings across all National Insurance.
- Collaborate with key partners within Product Support Services to file form updates and new products. Answer filing objections from Departments of Insurance as needed.
- Independently manage moderate to high complexity projects: understand business objectives as they relate to project goals.
- Monitor emerging risks and trends: develop strategies to address identified issues.
- Based on strong understanding of how competitor actions impact marketplace, distribution channel and customers, conduct in depth research of competitor filings utilizing various sources. Research may be at the state, competitor or countrywide level.
- Bachelor's degree in business economics or other quantitative field: Masters degree and/or CPCU preferred.
- Sound knowledge of underwriting, product management, financial and actuarial concepts as demonstrated by 6-9 years of relevant and progressively more challenging work experience. National Account or Specialty Account large risk underwriting experience preferred.
- Advanced analytical and problem solving skills with proven ability to make data driven decisions.
- Ability to foster and encourage teamwork and productive working relationships with stakeholders at all levels and across organizational lines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as proven ability to effectively present technical concepts to non-technical individuals within and outside the organization.
- Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and technologies and adapt to changes and demands in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Effective communication skills for writing reports/proposals and making presentations.
- Ability to work independently and lead others during projects.
