Job Introduction: The Principal SAP BASIS Software Developer is responsible for multiple aspects of the SAP Basis landscape including support, performance, project management, architecture, and strategy. Developer will work closely with SAP Basis operations delivery team, application owners, architects and business analysts to align global business strategies with enterprise IT and SAP technical strategies. Position will support SAP Basis strategy and architectural goals within the global organization including education and communication with business partners. Candidates must have working knowledge of SAP Basis configuration management activities including: client copy/refresh, system/client strategies, transport/migration policies, scheduling, performance tuning and monitoring, ABAP & Java stack administration on HANA and traditional systems, support packages application, and SAP upgrade strategies. Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting existing architecture and design of SAP in a global environment.
- Defines and maintains standards, guidelines, and quality of service criteria for enabling, implementing and supporting existing and new SAP landscapes and bolt on tools.
- Provides oversight and support of SAP HANA in a cloud computing environment (AWS)
- Leads technical performance and security compliance assessments (SOX review) of SAP applications and bolt on tools.
- Maintaining an understanding of current technologies, their trends, business strategies and capabilities.
- Drive outsourced technical partner in the ongoing support of the operational environments to maximize operational efficiency and enrich end user experience
- Accountable for regular performance review and reporting of all SAP systems
- Evaluate, test and provide recommendations for new tools for enterprise SAP administration and performance management
- Develops Build and Deployment guides using BASIS Technologies, Active Control.
- Identify and implements appropriate continuous improvement opportunities.
- Completes other project work or tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience, technical degree preferred.
- Minimum 10+ years of professional experience supporting global SAP environments including prior experience with SAP HANA, ECC 6.0 and Solution Manager 7.2 is strongly preferred
- Experience support an SAP environment in the cloud on SUSE Linux
- Knowledge on database standards and practices in an SAP environment
- Strong negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; presentation skills.
- Extensive knowledge of the following: IT concepts, strategies, methodologies.
- Extensive understanding of agile software development concepts and processes.
- Must be proactive, demonstrate initiative and be a logical thinker.
- Extensive understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, and incremental delivery.
