About the Position
Under general supervision, this job is responsible for investigating, negotiating and settling basic and occasionally moderately complex property damage and liability insurance claims. This individual travels to the loss site to conduct a thorough analysis. This individual reviews the insurance policy, evaluates damages, determines loss coverage, and authorizes payments. The individual is capable of working independently, prioritizing the individual's own responsibilities, and managing the individual's own workload.
What you will do:
- Research and respond to complex customer communications, concerns, conflicts or issues
- Review customer satisfaction results; participates in determining necessary personal and business unit action plans
- Use of Xactimate in conjunction with a Bluetooth Disto Laser measuring tool
- Notify insured of exposure over the policy limit
- Prepare damage estimate for complex claims
- Inspect and estimate water damage, hail damage, or smoke and fire damage in a dwelling
- Investigate, review, determine and verify complex coverage/policy information
- Provide coverage explanation to customer
- Assist in file reviews and make recommendations to refer files to Home Office for escalation

If offered the role, you may go to Wheeling, IL for a two-week training session in our state of the art facility within your first two months at Allstate. You will work with other Allstate employees to learn standard processes, answer any questions you have, and make career connections.
Job Qualifications
Working environment
Please note that, since this is a field service position, you will need to have a valid drivers license and a reliable vehicle. This is a demanding field position that will require you to travel within the territory as much as 75% of your working time. As a result, you must be willing to work some weekend and extended hours if necessary.
Ideal Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience plus two years experience delivering outstanding customer service preferred.
- 2-3 years of prior claims or insurance experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a passion for helping others.
- Strong organizational and computer skills.
- Persistence and the ability to work through and solve problems.
- Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
- Has and maintains all appropriate licenses and registrations for the role per state requirements
