Job Overview:

As a Sr. Analyst/ Statistical Modeling Specialist supporting our Claims Department, you will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes. The right candidate must have strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. This individual will have an opportunity to bring innovation to a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities to leverage data to drive business solutions.
• Mine and analyze data from a variety of data sources and offer insights to influence business strategies.
• Design and develop custom statistical models & machine learning algorithms to apply to data sets.
• Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, and other business outcomes.
• Generate and test working hypotheses.
• Prepare and analyze historical data and identify patterns.
• Develop company A/B testing framework and test model quality.
• Coordinate with different functional teams to implement statistical models and monitor outcomes.
• Effectively prioritize work assignments and regularly communicate work in progress (verbally and in writing) to a variety of stakeholders.

Leverage model insights via strategic use of automation.

• BS in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Excellent project and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• 1-2 years of working experience as a Data Analyst, Statistical Modeler, or Machine Learning Specialist preferred.
• Knowledge of a variety of statistical analysis or Machine Learning techniques.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
• Advanced computer skills, specifically in databases and spreadsheets (Excel, MSSQL, SAS preferred)
• Ability to effectively communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders based on your data analysis.
