Position Summary

The marketing & communications team is responsible for telling the Crawford message and value proposition across all media and to numerous constituents including clients, investors and employees. We must continually build brand equity and reinforce message consistency for Crawford and its sub-brands. This is equally important for internal and external constituents.

Reporting to the director of communications, the communications specialist is responsible for executing communications strategies and tactics in support of Crawfords company strategy and strategic priorities. Communications should elevate the Crawford brand and inspire and enable brand stewardship with employees and partners. The communications specialist implements and oversees communications programs, both internal and external, that effectively describe and promote the organization and its solutions and keeps employees engaged and informed.

The communications specialist provides communication guidance, copy-writing and project coordination for initiatives in all areas of the company including but not limited to: intranet, employee communication, social apps, press releases and media relations, collateral, newsletters, presentations, advertisements, executive and client communications, videos and special events.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and editing press releases, and issuing releases on the GlobeNewswire system and publishing releases to the companys global Web sites
  • Drafting, editing, formatting and issuing weekly company newsletter.
  • Drafting, editing and issuing company-wide communications for executives and business unit functions
  • Implementing internal communications campaigns for functions, including supporting Business Continuity, Human Resources, Information Technology, Investor Relations and Compliance & Ethics
  • Updating governance and training documents when required
  • Assisting with social media strategy and execution
  • Performing weekly document and content maintenance on the U.S. intranet
  • Managing mass communication system to notify employees of situations such as office closures
  • Proofing and editing marketing collateral
  • Supporting and helping executing corporate events
  • Other communications related duties as required
Requirements

  • Bachelors or masters degree, preferably in journalism, communications or English, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience with at least 3 years of working in a corporate environment (preferred)
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills along with excellent presentation and facilitation skills. Has strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to develop stakeholder relationships
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects & prioritize effectively
  • Experience writing in AP style and upholding corporate brand and writing standards guidelines
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, initiative, and creativity and proven track record for innovation
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and gain buy in from stakeholders to deliver results
  • Excellent organization, communication, program, and process management skills. Hands-on leadership and detail/process orientation. Ability to problem solve, identify root causes of obstacles and address fundamental
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy in order to make smart decisions and recommendations
  • Exceptional collaborator and influencer - drives change through ideas, relationships and actions, systemic and operational issues to accelerate results. Continuous improvement orientation
  • Ability to work effectively across divisions, geographies and all levels of leadership
  • Good understanding of different types of copy and appropriate use of each
