How This Role Contributes to Brighthouse Financial:
The Senior Content Marketing Consultant is a contributor to driving brand awareness and consideration for the Brighthouse Financial brand. The role requires a publisher mindset: creating content our audience is looking for and then optimizing it to drive action. The individual in this role will create educational content for consumers and advisors, govern over the brands tone of voice and manage an editorial calendar that will effectively drive organic traffic and action on the website.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy:
- Collaborate across the organization to deliver an editorial plan that will meet the business objectives
- Work cross-functionally to determine the digital journey and user paths for the website
- Lead content strategy, user journeys and measures of success for highly visible brand campaigns
- Engage with the user experience teams to develop an evergreen strategy including merchandising, hyperlinking, digital, paid, social and SEO strategy
- Partner with the Distribution arm of the organization to ensure content is promoted and accessible to internal (Sales) and external target audiences (advisors and consumers)
Content/Editor:
- Role requires a publisher mindset: create content our audience is looking for and optimize it to drive action
- Responsible for creating, editing and updating educational content on the Brighthouse Financial websites for consumers, advisors and customers
- Govern the brands tone of voice by reviewing and editing content created across the organization to ensure it is adhering to the brand guidelines
- Manage agency partners or writers to create content and ensure it is relevant, trustworthy and actionable
- Oversee the launch of new web content
- Collaborate with media partners to develop native content to reach target markets
Manage results:
- Maintain and exceed quality benchmarks for each piece of content
- Maintain and exceed bounce rate and action rate benchmarks for campaigns
- Optimize content and journeys to meet and exceed bounce and action rates
- Measure content performance for quality through market research
- Measure content engagement through data analysis
- Provide topline results and recommendations for content optimizations
- Forecast and monitor the budget and improve ROI year-over-year
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
- 7 + years experience in marketing or communications (preferably with an editor role)
- Strong record of success in leading digital marketing programs
- Expert communicator (verbal and written)
- Undergraduate degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred
