Summary

The Claims Data Analyst will work directly with assigned Claim Analysts to create analytic solutions that support the various claim handling strategies specific to each Work Matter.

Essential Functions

  • Able to extract, match, and merge disparate data sources using appropriate software tools to complete complex data research, analysis, and reporting assignments.
  • Completes reporting, assists with data research and preparation, and provides other data-centric services of assigned work matters, based on the strategic needs of individual work matter handling strategies.
  • Must be willing to develop a broad knowledgeable of the characteristics of assigned work matters, from policy information (coverages, periods, limits, and layers), jurisdiction laws, profiles of associated defense and plaintiff law firms. Will use this information to fulfill various analytics requests that support the Claims Analysts work matter handling strategy.
  • Capable of working closely with all levels of associates over multiple Work Matters with vastly differing characteristics.
  • Acquires, validates, and analyzes data based on RiverStones established Data Governance and Data Management methods and procedures.
  • Ability to compare and contrast data sources, reports, or results over time
  • Effectively collaborates with members of IT, the Project Management Office, and the Business functions as appropriate.
  • Facilitates and/or consults on the resolution of basic to intermediate problems.
  • Mentors junior level teammates.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated technical competence in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Technical competence in data querying languages such as T-SQL and ability to execute basic level data queries.
  • Understanding of relational databases and general database structures.
  • Ability to complete basic-level data research and validation
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to align with and behave in accordance with RiverStone commitments and culture

Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience required.
  • General insurance or actuarial experience preferred.

Required Education

Four-year college degree

Preferred Education or Certification

AINS or equivalent experience
