Job Family Summary

Supports the growth and success of the Regional Independent Agency distribution channel for both new and existing appointed independent agencies. Implements and/or identifies best practices, education, and sales processes to support business needs. Drives process adoption with agency owner and LSPs. Influences behavior changes with ability to coach/engage agency owners and LSPs.

Job Summary

The Agency Process Associate (APA) is accountable for the delivery and implementation of business processes at agencies and other on-boarding and agency development sales process needs. Will work with Agency owners and Licensed Sales Professionals (LSPs) to help drive business results and improve customer engagement and growth. The focus of the APA role is to provide virtual and/or in person support for independent agencies.

*No direct reports. Closely aligned to Territory Sales Consultant. Reports to the Regional Sales Manager.

*Candidate should reside in ME, NH, VT or northern MA.

Key Responsibilities

Process Implementation

  • Provides a consistent on boarding and development experience for all new Independent Agents with implementation of consistent business processes with a particular focus on growth and customer engagement.
  • Implements processes by working with new and existing Independent Agents and LSPs through process reviews and observation, and providing advice, tips, suggestions for improvement.
  • Supports new and existing Independent Agents and LSPs to drive improved business results, including the measurement of results and follow-up of process implementations.
  • Supports Territory Sales Consultant (TSC) in assisting agency owners to achieve goals outlined in the agency compensation program, implement agency business plans, and align processes with company objectives.
  • Builds and maintains best practices for the successful operation of all Independent Agents and leverages opportunities to share knowledge/best practices across the market and region.
  • Maintains accurate and timely records of agency support activities by journaling and using appropriate tracking tools.

Communication & Relationship Management

  • Reinforces education with Independent Agents and LSPs; and/or refers new agency owners of education classes, workshops and seminars, as appropriate, and as identified through conversations with agencies.
  • Maintains proactive working relationship with Independent Agents, including follow-up process reviews and periodic assessments.
  • Takes accountability of communicating updates and progress with TSC regarding process support activities conducted at their agencies.
  • Suggests individual agency and LSP development opportunities to TSC, as needed, for consideration by Independent agency owner.
  • Supports the TSC in communicating company business objectives (in the context of process implementation). Works with and communicates with new Independent Agents and LSPs in a manner consistent with their respective agreements with the Company.
  • Takes personal responsibility for ongoing personal growth and professional development by identifying and acting on appropriate training and development opportunities

Job Qualifications

Experience and Knowledge

  • 1-3 years sales management, education, training and development, or agency support experience in P&C.
  • Prior sales leadership, recruiting, agency establishment (onboarding) and agency development experience.
  • 4 year college degree preferred.

Analytical and Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of agent contracts, compliance requirements, Allstate policies and procedures.
  • Experience using Allstate technology and Microsoft Office products.
  • Familiarity with virtual tools such as Skype.
  • Knowledge of P&C products.
  • Familiarity with P&C, including competitors and trends.
  • Possesses process development and implementation skills.
  • Knowledge of process installation, education techniques and other sales processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Allstate business model.
  • Ability to articulate, assemble and deliver information

Non-technical Skills

  • Strong communication skills - Includes presentation, business writing, negotiation, motivation and relationship management.
  • Problem solving Uses judgment by applying broad knowledge and experience when addressing complex issues.

  • Ability to accommodate overnight travel.

Required Licenses (including certifications)

  • Property & Casualty licenses as appropriate for the state (can be attained through development once in the role within the first 90 days)
  • Industry certifications (preferred)
