Senior Underwriter- Surety


Overview

The Senior Underwriter- Surety will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating new business from agents including financial analysis, reference contacts, and interaction with banker and CPAs. Duties include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

Review and evaluate renewal bond in order to determine renewal underwriting and documentation requirements
Review midterm adjustments, credit reports and underwriting information when received, and advise branch manager and/or Home Office
Underwriting of considerations on any midterm adjustments
Assist with preparing branch/reinsurance submissions of financial files
Assist underwriting personnel with financial file updates and maintenance of necessary information
Assist with evaluating underwriting requirements for home office or branch office bond submissions
Assist with reviewing and revising bond forms
Review status inquiries and advise Home Office Underwriting of necessary actions

Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience underwriting surety commercial or contract bonds
  • Financial background
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
