Implements the processing of Peer Review activity for submission of medical letters and reports to in-house and third party clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Transcribes physician dictations into a client specific word document format.
  • Returns completed reports to the clients in a timely manner using the appropriate client specific format.
  • Serves as a contact for in-house and third party clients, as well as, peer review panel physicians and dictation staff.
  • Expedites typing with attention to detail.
  • Organizes and generates Peer Review activity in specified time parameters and maintaining productivity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Identifies problems and troubleshoots peer review activity on multiple levels to ensure a smooth transition between the reviewing physician and client expectations.
  • Maintains peer review records and confidential documentation.
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein and as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum two years of college or equivalent work experience, BA in English preferred
  • Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm
  • 10-key-by-touch: minimum 10,000 keystrokes
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Proofreading experience

Other Skills & Abilities:

  • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Computer knowledge: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, e-mail, WWW
  • Basic office equipment knowledge: Fax machines, copiers, moderate phones
  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
  • Knowledge of every aspect of executing a peer review report
  • Ability to use critical thinking for various scenarios
  • General office skills to include organizational skills; attention to detail; phone skills; fax usage; sorting, verifying and document preparation; quality assurance
