Job Description
The Sourcing and Procurement Data and Analytics team provides all financial reporting and analysis for the business unit. This includes financial maintenance, and reporting and analysis of operational and statistical data used by the management team.
The SPS-Procurement Analyst- Consultant I role exists to perform activities related to the development, maintenance, and analysis of operational and statistical data used by Management. This position also participates in the formation of financial plans and forecasts and provides answers to questions about business data to both the internal Sourcing & Procurement Solutions department and external departments. This position acknowledges a more advanced understanding of the data, information, terminology, and technology (financial modeling software & spreadsheets), and an ability to communicate results to groups outside the department. This position can train others as well as make recommendations for correction and improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Play a key role in the development and evaluation of financial plans and policies.
- Ensure that systems controls are in place and determine operation's consistency with corporate objectives and standards through various verification methods and procedures. Make recommendations for improvements.
- Prepare reports, based on moderately complex analyses, and make recommendations to manager to assist in financial planning.
- Contribute to the creation of financial models of "what if" scenarios for future business planning decisions
- The output of this job is Data, Reports, Analysis, and Research, as well as data and financial modeling, numerical exhibits, and written communication.
Job Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree/MBA in Business, Finance, Math, (or related field) or relevant experience
- 2-4 years of accounting or finance experience
- Strong PC skills in spreadsheets, word processing, and presentations
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with numbers and formulas
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to perform more complex forms of analysis, linking different data sources and producing a more in-depth product
- Expanded knowledge of the insurance industry and the outside marketplace
