Job Summary
At Travelers Innovation Center (TIC), our researchers and software developers work in small teams to test the state of the art ideas and innovative solutions and put the best ones to use. We are looking for a hands-on architect with strong foundational knowledge of data analysis and machine learning with a constant yearning to learn. If you like using a variety of skills in technology and data modeling to creatively solve problems, work collaboratively in small agile team environment, and constantly lean, you might just be the person we need on our team!



Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
In this role you'll have opportunities to

1. Empower the technical and data science communities through developing and designing enterprise models with the goal of empowering
2. Contribute strategic thinking, solutions and algorithms to drive model bases solutions
3. Adopt and communicate new concepts, ideas and techniques
4. Assist in hands-on remediation of application stability and performance
5. Performing product-level design, debugging and performance analysis
6. Constantly learn new skills within small teams

Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. 1 year of technology related experience required.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge

• 2+ years of experience in programming with data analysis and manipulation required
• 2+ years of experience with Machine Learning Libraries
• Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
• Experience with Deep Learning Frameworks such as TensorFlow/Pytorch/Keras etc. would be ideal
• Experience with contributing to open source projects

Job Specific & Technical Skills & Competencies

• Collect and cleanse data for relevant data analysis.
• Ability to develop advanced models and interpret model results.
• Understanding of advanced statistics underlying data models. Ability to apply emerging statistical procedures to work.
• Willingness to innovate with the possibility of failure.
• Strong communication, collaboration and relationship building skills with the ability to present and translate complex information to very senior leadership and non-technical teams in relevant business terms.
• Exhibits high levels of learning agility in which they seek out and learn from unfamiliar experiences and then apply those lessons to succeed in the next new situation.
• Experience in software engineering with relevant technologies (Python, C++, Java, Julia etc.).
