COMMERCIAL LINES UNDERWRITING ASSISTANT

Based in Hunterdon County, Farmers Insurance Company of Flemington is a Mutual Insurer writing personal and commercial lines property & casualty business for the New Jersey market. We are currently seeking a Commercial Lines Underwriting Assistant to join our team.
Job Summary:
This is an immediate career opportunity for a full time Underwriting Assistant in our Flemington, NJ location. This individual will be responsible for providing administrative support to our Commercial Lines Underwriting team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide support to underwriters and independent agents
- Review renewals and complete appropriate file documentation
- Review and process endorsements and cancellations
- Order loss control inspections, property valuations and loss reports
- Rating new business and renewals
- Assist in other department functions including ordering and processing of premium audits, maintaining new application log, policy assembly, following up on correspondence, answering telephones and other related duties as assigned
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
- Excellent communication and technical skills
- Good analytical skills for problem solving
- Attention to detail and accuracy are essential for this role
- Proficient use of a computer (MS Word/Excel) and ImageRight experience a plus
- Positive, upbeat personality and desire to be part of a team
- Must be dependable and able to work both independently and in a fast paced team environment
- 2+ years commercial lines insurance experience (Multi-line a plus)
- Excellent decision, organization, planning and multi-tasking skills
Education:
- High School Diploma (College a plus)
