Position Overview

The Product Development & Regulatory Compliance Analyst is responsible for assisting in maintaining compliance of the companys products, performing audits and testing of administration systems. Provides product, market, and competitive insight to internal business areas impacted by regulatory changes. Assists the product team in the development of rules and forms in current states as well as expansion into new states.

Essential Job Functions

  • Research and review legislative, regulatory regulations and other mandated changes and provide analysis on regulatory compliance risks that may impact the company.

  • Review product related ISO circulars and state bulletins and provide recommendations on product changes.

  • Conduct routine audits of products and administration systems to ensure continuous compliance.

  • Compile information and maintains relevant records related to quality improvement and compliance monitoring activities for internal use and external audits.

  • Develop IT requirements for system implementation of product changes or compliance needs.

  • Work with Director of Regulatory Compliance to develop and maintain processes and procedures to facilitate the timely and accurate execution of all types of product enhancements.

  • Develop coverage forms, endorsements, manuals and applications needed to support new and existing products.

  • Facilitate product filings and maintain good working relationships with Insurance Departments.

  • Provide oral and written communication regarding product or compliance issues to various departments and levels of management.

  • Provide product knowledge to other functional areas in the Department/Company

  • Assist with product training as needed.

  • All other duties assigned by Management.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Ability

  • Bachelors degree or four (4) years equivalent work experience

  • Minimum two (2) years experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance Industry

  • Demonstrated good leadership skills

  • Strong research skills particularly in the area of insurance regulation

  • Experience developing underwriting rules and forms

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Strong ability to multi-task on projects while being attentive to details and target dates

  • Self-motivated and goal oriented

  • Ability to work with a team and with all levels of the organization

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint is a must
