Job Description
Who are we?
We call ourselves Allstate Marketings Strategic Analytics team. Think exploratory, predictive, and causal. We are all things marketing analytics. The spectrum of responsibilities for this team ranges from now decisions (e.g.: what is the ROI for a particular campaign last month & should it continue?) to long-term planning and strategy (e.g.: who is our target consumer and how do we attract more of them?).
We are on a journey to build out the best-in-class team and are looking for enthusiastic, driven professionals. We hire people with passion, who love what they do not skill sets. So, heres a litmus test:
- Are you picky about pulling your own data and applying an analytic layer on the data for answering a business question?
- Does the thought of working hands-on with industry leading digital data sets excite you (think Google, Facebook, marketing attribution)?
- Do you have a very specific POV on the best approach for conducting an experiment, creating a predictive model, or performing an unsupervised clustering analysis in tools like R and Python?
- Have you helped junior data scientists, with freshly obtained Masters degrees in hand, apply their newfound skills to create real world business solutions?
If you answered Yes to 3 of the 4 questions above you are likely an ideal candidate to join the Strategic Analytics team at Allstate, and we look forward to meeting you! (Additional points if you like batman more than superman!).
Job Description
What will you be doing?
- You are the lead data scientist. You have experience taking business problems and partnering with leadership to create analytical solutions. You know the right modeling application for the task at hand. Your skills are contemporary with the latest software and hacks, you continue to proactively build your skillset, and you can help junior data scientists troubleshoot and innovate.
- You are consumer-obsessed, leading your team to create deep insights that translate into actionable strategies that aim to deliver the right message to our target audience, in the right place, at the right time.
- You will lead the development and creation of consumer segmentation clustering analyses, propensity models, churn models, customer lifetime value models, etc.
- You will work with the team to turn complex analyses into compelling, simple stories that inspire action with meaningful impact.
- You will remove data barriers by leveraging our Data Engineering team and/or enabling the team to build datasets on-demand by directly querying, cleaning, transforming, and staging data for modeling needs.
- As you become an expert in Allstates business needs, you will proactively identify business problems and improvement opportunities, where new analytical solutions can positively impact the bottom line through customer growth or operational efficiency.
- You will be supported by a project manager, working in an Agile environment to break down projects into meaningful steps, ensuring progress is continually made and deadlines are met.
- You will maximize your own professional development, staying on the forefront of technological and analytical advancements, allowing you to achieve both personal growth and career goals.
In essence, the scope is huge, the only limitation is your will!
