About the job:

We are seeking an experienced ETL Developer. In this role, you will use your Informatica experience coupled with business and technical knowledge to develop data integrations to/from internal and external systems supporting HR Data Services. As a member of an agile team, you will participate in agile ceremonies and work with the Product Owner, Scrum Master and your team members. The candidates should demonstrate pride in their work and have good design and development skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with our internal and external customers business and technical contacts, evaluate business requirements and model data and system requirements to create ETL programs using Informatica data transformation tools for both inbound and outbound data.
  • Collaborate with a team of distributed staff and consultants
  • Analyze and document test plans, and test and approve new system behaviors.
  • Coordinate upgrades and rollouts of moderate scope and work with product owners and scrum masters to develop and deliver these solutions.
  • Drive full cycle end to end development from design through implementation.
  • Work along with onshore and offshore development team members with regards to sprint planning, release planning, and work prioritization across the portfolio
  • Take direction from application architects and work with other application teams to implement solutions and ensure effective integration with downstream systems.
  • Demonstrate technical architecture skills with ability to handle multiple activities in a dynamic environment.

Desired skills:

  • Generally, 3+ years of professional development experience on a software development team
  • Knowledge of ETL tools such as Informatica and experience with SQL / PL-SQL
  • Knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, architectures and technical standards.
  • Knowledge of web service protocol such as REST or SOAP
  • The ability to create, read, and understand a data mapping document
  • Experience with hosted web-based solutions, single sign-on models, and certificate management
  • Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows server OS
  • Familiarity with front end web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript and related frameworks (Angular, Node, React, etc.), and CSS will be a plus

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Generally 3+ years of professional experience.
  • Proficient in two or more programming languages and tools; knowledgeable in new and emerging technologies.
  • Negotiation skills; oral and written communication skills.
  • General knowledge of the following: IT concepts, strategies and methodologies, IT architectures and technical standards.
  • General knowledge of a business function(s) and business operations.
  • Design and development tools.
  • General knowledge of layered systems architectures.
  • General understanding of shared software concepts.
  • General knowledge of architectures and technical standards.
  • General knowledge of agile software development concepts and processes
  • Must be proactive, demonstrate initiative and be a logical thinker.
  • Consultative skills, including the ability to understand and assist in applying customer requirements, including drawing out unforeseen implications and making recommendations for design, the ability to define design reasoning, understanding potential impacts of design requirements.
  • Understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, and incremental delivery.
  • Collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills required.
