Commercial Lines Producer Job Summary- LOCATED IN COLUMBUS, OH

Salary Range: $56,700 - $65,206 - $73,710

The Commercial Lines Producer is responsible for generating their own book of business through established agents and recruiting new agents on a consistent basis. This includes responsibility for reviewing, submitting and placing new and renewal business. This role is also responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies in their specific territories/ programs.

Essential Functions (primary functions and/or reasons the job exists in order of importance)

1. Works independently to generate new books of business for our carriers.

2. Prepares sales proposals and develops quotes for new business prospects.

3. Reviews, submits, and places new and renewal business.

4. Provides quality customer service to producing agents in the day-to-day servicing of new business.

5. Maintains an operating knowledge of specific carrier coverage forms, eligibility requirements and program details.

6. Works with carriers and agents to develop new programs and grow the existing programs currently in place.

7. Works with Specialty Brokerage leadership analyzing and recommending new carriers.

8. Independently develops marketing strategies and creates and executes marketing plans.

9. Stays current on industry trends and assist in developing new agency and carrier relationships.

10. Works with current staff to determine future needs.

11. Cold calls agents to solicit business.

12. Handles incoming and outgoing correspondence including applications, quotes, policies, endorsements and brokerage agreements utilizing standard office equipment.

13. Understands billing systems, and can assist agents with any questions that they may have troubleshooting problems.

14. Maintains PC agent license and completes required continuing education.

15. Utilizes Applied Management system to manage accounts.

16. Travels as needed in order to perform other essential functions.

Desired Qualifications/Experience/Certification/Education (in order of importance)

1. Minimum 3 years of insurance experience.

2. Minimum 2 years of brokerage experience.

3. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Property-Casualty Insurance License within 90 days of employment.

4. Strong communication skills resulting in the ability to interact with agents, employees, and all levels of management gained through previous work experiences.

5. Understanding of general business flows, procedures, and systems.

Ability to work effectively in an office environment for 40+ hours per week (including sitting, standing and working on a computer for extended periods of time).

Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as: telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.

Ability to physically and accurately file.

Ability to read standard typed documents.

Ability to travel as required.

Ability to operate an automobile within the parameters of the driving policy.
